   Sammanfattning : The current thesis is based on four individual studies which aim to account for the expression of motion events (ME) in Spanish and Swedish as first languages (L1), in Swedish as a second language (L2), and in Spanish as a heritage language (SHL). The data, resulting from audio-recordings of different sorts of stimuli, have been analyzed with special focus on (1) the most common structures used for referring to various types of ME, (2) the types and amount of information provided by the participants, in particular as regards the semantic components Path, Manner and Ground, and (3) grammatical aspect and types of syntactic structures resorted to, including the correlation between the two latter factors and speakers’ discursive preferences.    Sammanfattning : Background: Esophageal atresia (EA) is a congenital malformation that consists of various degrees of discontinuity of the esophagus and affects about 1:3000 live births. EA is usually corrected at birth with survival rates over 90%, which has shifted the focus towards improvement of associated morbidity and health-related quality of life. LÄS MER

   Sammanfattning : The volcanogenic massive sulphide deposits at the Neves-Corvo mine area, part of the Iberian Pyrite Belt in southern Portugal, were studied using seismic methods.  Three distinct reflection seismic datasets were used in this study: a 2D legacy data from 1996, an innovative 2019 surface and in-mine acquisition, and a 2011 3D seismic survey.    Sammanfattning : The novel El obsceno påjaro de la noche ( The Obscene Bird of Night) (1970) by José Donoso is considered to be essentially governed by two semantic isotopies: the Enclosure and the Substitution. The Substitution is a consequence of the Enclosure, which is manifested as a reaction to the inhibitive effect of the Enclosure; in this way the polarity between these two governing isotopies generates a dynamic which permits both the development of the story and its interpretative coherence.
