11. Synthesis and Energy Transfer Studies of a Donor-Host-Acceptor Triad
Sammanfattning : This dissertation describes the synthesis of a donor-host-acceptor triad, D-H-A, and its self-assembly into a well-ordered dimer. The energy transfer (EnT) properties of D-H-A as it is, in the presence of a variety of guest molecules and in the dimeric form are presented. LÄS MER
12. Studying Morphology Formation and Charge Separation in Organic Solar Cells
Sammanfattning : We are currently living in the era of automation and artificial intelligence, which requires more energy than ever before. Meanwhile, the reduction of carbon footprint is needed for keeping the environment sustainable. Exploring green energy is crucial. Solar power is one of the green energy sources. LÄS MER
13. Theoretical Study of the Electronic Factor in Electron Transfer Reactions
Sammanfattning : The electronic factor D is calculated for a number of organic and biological electron transfer systems. Quantum chemical methods at different levels of accuracy are used: ab initio Hartree-Fock, broken-symmetry, and correlation-corrected methods such as multiconfigurational second-order perturbation theory, and also the semiempirical CNDO/S method for very large systems. 14. Organic functionalization of graphene for applications in energy storage devices and optoelectronics
Sammanfattning : The emergence of one-atom layer thick materials, exemplified by graphene following its first exfoliation by Geim and Novoselov, has sparked significant research interest. Owing to their unique electronic structure, 2D materials are regarded as promising candidates for diverse applications, including field-effect transistors (FETs), solar energy harvesting, biological systems, water purification, and energy storage devices. 15. The MHC-glycopeptide-T cell interaction in collagen induced arthritis : a study using glycopeptides, isosteres and statistical molecular design in a mouse model for rheumatoid arthritis
Sammanfattning : Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is an autoimmune disease affecting approximately 1% of the population in the western world. It is characterised by a tissue specific attack of cartilage in peripheral joints. Collagen induced arthritis (CIA) is one of the most commonly used animal models for (RA), with similar symptoms and histopathology. LÄS MER
