1. Taxation of intermediate goods : a CGE analysis
Sammanfattning : This dissertation is concerned with tax rates for the use of commodities in general, and energy in particular. Computable General Equilibrium (CGE) models are used to analyze the normative question of whether the tax rate for intermediate use by firms should be the same as the tax rate for final consumption by households. 2. Statistical Analysis of Hardware Impairments in Communication Systems
Sammanfattning : This thesis delves into the study of hardware impairments, the inevitable limiting factors in radio frequency (RF) communication systems, and their substantial influence on system performance. It addresses the incongruity between the often stringent requirements imposed by standards and the innate imperfections of analog circuits present in real-world RF electronics. LÄS MER
3. Design and Analysis of Highly Linear Integrated Wideband Amplifiers
Sammanfattning : This dissertation deals with techniques for designing integrated amplifiers with high linearity. Amplifiers with operating frequencies from Audio to RF have been built. An enhanced feedback configuration, capable of very low distortion, is presented. LÄS MER
4. Moisture-induced stress and distortion of wood : A numerical and experimental study of wood's drying and long-term behaviour
Sammanfattning : With the current advances made in three-dimensional modelling of wood, it is possible to provide an overall picture of moisture flow, and moisture-induced stress and deformations, whereas previously, experiments only provided local measurements. The main aim of the doctoral thesis is to investigate the possibilities of the developed three-dimensional numerical model to predict the behaviour of wood when simultaneously exposed to a mechanical load and a particular climate. 5. High-End Performance with Low-End Hardware : Analysis of Massive MIMO Base Station Transceivers
Sammanfattning : Massive MIMO (multiple-input–multiple-output) is a multi-antenna technology for cellular wireless communication, where the base station uses a large number of individually controllable antennas to multiplex users spatially. This technology can provide a high spectral efficiency. LÄS MER
