    Sammanfattning : Based on a poststructural discourse-theoretical perspective, the aim of this thesis is to critically examine the construction of the Swedish compulsory school’s democratic education and its consequences for the teacher subject, in educational policy texts. Set against the backdrop of what is commonly referred to as a crisis of democracy, the study takes its point of departure in changes in educational politics in recent decades and the new national curriculum for the compulsory school in 2011.     Sammanfattning : This study examines booktalk, that is, teacher-led group discussions about books for children in a Swedish school. The empirical data comprise 24 hours of videorecorded booktalk in grades 4–7. In total, 40 children (aged 10–14 years) were recorded during 24 sessions. LÄS MER

Studien baseras på observationer och intervjuer i tre olika verksamheter för unga i åldern 12-16 år: 1) ett hem för vård eller boende, HVB, med egen skola, 2) en kommunal särskild undervisningsgrupp, f d skoldaghem, och 3) ett HVB för utredning och behandling utan egen skola.
