The virus is highly contagious making outbreaks difficult or often impossible to control and having a high impact on societal costs and resources. LÄS MER
22. Re-defining the Problem in Technology Aided Epidemic Prevention : from contact tracing to behavioral design
Sammanfattning : In this work, the Covid-19 pandemic provides the context for exploring the emerging field of mobile technologies for disease prevention and tracking during epidemics and pandemics. Knowledge on how to design and utilize these types of digital preventive technologies and how to gain public acceptance is still limited. LÄS MER
23. Host genetic risk factors to viral diseases - a double-edged sword : Studies of norovirus and tick-borne encephalitis virus
Sammanfattning : It is today well known that the outcome of a certain infection depends on factors of both the host and the pathogen. Studies of host genetic susceptibility to infectious diseases aim to increase the understanding of why some individuals are more susceptible than others, to a certain infection. LÄS MER
24. Assessing the health consequences of deficiencies in water distribution networks: a basis for future network management
Sammanfattning : Drinking water distribution networks are susceptible to incidents that may contaminate the drinking water being served to the population. Five major risks that can impact negatively the health of consumers have been identified by a literature study: intrusion, cross-connections and backflows, unhygienic repairs or maintenance works, inadequate management of storage reservoirs and biofilms.
