11. Engineering of thermometric biosensors and characterisation of redox enzymes for improved performance of biosensors/biofuel cells
Sammanfattning : The present work is mainly focused on the development of enzyme-based bioanalytical devices, which can further be applied as analytical tools for industrial, medical and environmental applications. The first part of the work deals with the practical applications of thermometric biosensors for determination of various sugars (fructose and lactose) in a real samples. LÄS MER
12. 2nd and 3rd generation electrodes for biosensors and biofuel cells
Sammanfattning : The catalytic and electrochemical properties of tryptophan repressor-binding protein (WrbA), pyranose dehydrogenase (PDH), cellobiose dehydrogenase (CDH) and glucose dehydrogenase (GDH) on carbon electrodes were investigated using cyclic voltammetry and flow injection amperometry to construct biosensors and biofuel cell (BFC) anodes. WrbA has a catalytic FMN-containing domain whereas both PDH and GDH have a catalytic FAD-containing domains. LÄS MER
13. Development of Second and Third Generation Bioelectronics
Sammanfattning : The field of research dealing with the integration of biomolecules with electronic elements to form functional devices is called ‘‘bioelectronics’’. Bioelectronics based on mediated electron transfer (MET) between the biological element and the electrodes are designated as “second generation” while the one based on direct electron transfer (DET) is specified as “third generation”. 14. Facilitating electron transfer in bioelectrocatalytic systems
Sammanfattning : Bioelectrocatalytic systems are based on biological entities, such as enzymes, whole cells, parts of cells or tissues, which catalyse electrochemical processes that involve the interaction between chemical change and electrical energy. In all cases, biocatalysis is implemented by enzymes, isolated or residing inside cells or part of cells. LÄS MER
15. Compounds with Non-Buttressed Metal-Metal Bond between Platinum and Thallium. Model Systems for Photoinduced Two-Electron-Transfer
Sammanfattning : A new family of oligonuclear cyano compounds incorporatingtransition (Pt) and main group (Tl) metals bound with anon-buttressed Pt-Tl bond was synthesised in aqueous solution. The metal-metal linkage is formed in the reaction betweenplatinum and thallium in their stable oxidation forms, Pt(II)and Tl(III), orvice versa: Pt(IV) and Tl(I).
