  1. 16. The Balance between Pro- and Antiinflammatory Molecules in ANCA-Associated Vasculitis

    Författare :Sophie Ohlsson; Njurmedicin; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; nephrology; Urologi; nefrologi; Urology; monocyte; SLPI; proteinase 3; ANCA; vasculitis; inflammation;

    Sammanfattning : ANCA-associated systemic vasculitis (AASV) is a group of inflammatory disorders, characterized by inflammation and necrosis of blood vessels and frequently granuloma formation. Patients with AASV make autoantibodies, so called ANCA, against proteins present in the granules of neutrophils and monocytes, mainly proteinase 3 (PR3) and myeloperoxidase (MPO). LÄS MER

  2. 17. Forgoing life-sustaining treatment in intensive care units. Practice, attitudes and ethics

  3. 18. The relationship between reduced renal function and cardiovascular disease

    Författare :Patrik Svensson; Kardiovaskulär forskning - hypertoni; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; eGFR; creatinine; cystatin C; CKD-EPI; CKD; CVD; Genetics; Blood Pressure; Hypertension;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis examines the relationship between measures of renal function and cardiovascular disease (CVD) in patients with hypertension (the NORDIL study) and in the healthy population (Malmö Diet and Cancer Study, MDC) and whether antihypertensive treatment response and the risk of CVD is affected by genetic variation of a regulator of the renal amiloroide sensitive sodium channel (NORDIL). In study 1 we tested creatinine, estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) with Cockroft-Gault (CG) and the MDRD equations and also microalbuminuria (MA) as predictors of CVD, stroke and CVD death.
