  1. 11. Diffusion MRI of Small Ischemic Brain Lesions: Technical aspects, clinical experiences and diagnostic criteria

    Författare :Bo Geijer; Lund Diagnostisk radiologi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; radiology; Clinical physics; Metastasis; ADC; b; Infarct; MRI; Ischemia; Diffusion-Weighted; Diffusion; tomography; medical instrumentation; Klinisk fysiologi; radiologi; tomografi; medicinsk instrumentering;

    Sammanfattning : Purpose: To compare the visualization of small ischemic brain lesions using diffusion using diffusion-weighted (DW) MRI and conventional imaging, with special regard to diagnostic efficiency. Imaging features of lesions of different ages, diagnostic limitations and technical principles were also investigated. LÄS MER

  2. 12. Imaging in Idiopathic Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus : The value of structured radiological evaluation

    Författare :Karin Kockum; Katarina Laurell; Elna-Marie Larsson; Katrine Riklund; Johan Wasselius; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; normal pressure hydrocephalus; gait disorder; computed tomography; magnetic resonance imaging; diagnostisk radiologi; Diagnostic Radiology;

    Sammanfattning : Background: Idiopathic normal pressure hydrocephalus (iNPH) is a neurological condition where the symptoms include disturbed gait, balance, cognition and continence. The diagnostic guidelines are based on typical symptoms combined with imaging showing enlarged ventricles. LÄS MER

  3. 13. Calculation of scatter in cone beam CT : Steps towards a virtual tomograph

    Författare :Alexandr Malusek; Michael Sandborg; Gudrun Alm Carlsson; Michael Ljungberg; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Radiology; Radiologi;

    Sammanfattning : Scattered photons—shortly scatter—are generated by interaction processes when photon beams interact with matter. In diagnostic radiology, they deteriorate image quality since they add an undesirable signal that lowers the contrast in projection radiography and causes cupping and streak artefacts in computed tomography (CT). 4. 14. Quantifying the quality of medical x-ray images. An evaluation based on normal anatomy for lumbar spine and chest radiography

    Författare :Anders Tingberg; Malmö Medicinsk strålningsfysik; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Clinical physics; normal anatomy; free response forced error FFE ; receiver operating characteristics ROC ; visual grading analysis VGA ; European image criteria; quantifying clinical image quality; radiology; tomography; medical instrumentation; Klinisk fysiologi; radiologi; tomografi; medicinsk instrumentering;

    Sammanfattning : Optimisation in diagnostic radiology requires accurate methods for determination of patient absorbed dose and clinical image quality. Simple methods for evaluation of clinical image quality are at present scarce and this project aims at developing such methods. LÄS MER

  5. 15. Gadodiamide injection for Enhancement of MRI in the CNS. Applications, dose, field and time dependence

    Författare :Per Åkeson; Malmö Diagnostisk radiologi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Clinical physics; Phantom study.; Comparative study; Human; Time dependence; Dosage; Enhancement; Gadolinium; MRI contrast media; Contrast media; Magnetic resonance imaging; Spine; Brain neoplasms; secondary; Brain; radiology; tomography; medical instrumentation; Klinisk fysiologi; radiologi; tomografi; medicinsk instrumentering;

    Sammanfattning : Aims of the study The aims of this study using Gadodiamide injection were to investigate: · Whether Gadodiamide injection was comparable to Gd-DTPA for the enhancement of CNS lesions. · The contrast effect at different field strengths. · The effective time-window for the enhancement of blood-brain barrier damage.
