  1. 16. Plasma-Facing Components in Tokamaks : Studies of Wall Conditioning Processes and Plasma Impact on Diagnostic Mirrors

    Författare :Álvaro García Carrasco; Marek Rubel; Marco Cecconello; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Plasa-wall interactions; wall conditioning; tracers; diagnostic mirrors; ICWC; Physics; Fysik;

    Sammanfattning : Understanding of material migration and its impact on the formation of co-deposited mixed material layers on plasma-facing components is essential for the development of fusion reactors. This thesis focuses on this topic. It is based on experiments performed at JET and TEXTOR tokamaks. LÄS MER

  2. 17. Droplet size, concentration, and temperature mapping in sprays using SLIPI-based techniques

    Författare :Yogeshwar Nath Mishra; Förbränningsfysik; []
    Nyckelord :Sprays; Optical measurements; Laser diagnostic; Droplet size; Temperature; Fysicumarkivet A:2018:Mishra;

    Sammanfattning : Structured laser illumination planar imaging (SLIPI) is a technique capable of suppressing multiple light scattering effects in optically dense sprays, resulting in spray images without blurs and with enhanced contrast. The novelty of the work presented in this thesis concerns the applications of a variety of SLIPI-based techniques for the measurement of droplet size, droplet concentration, and liquid temperature in atomizing sprays. 3. 18. Computer-Assisted Diagnosis for the Interpretation of Bone Scintigraphy. A new approach to improve diagnostic accuracy

    Författare :May Sadik; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :Diagnostic accuracy; Radionuclide imaging; Bone metastases; Breast cancer; Prostate cancer;

    Sammanfattning : The most common cancers in the western countries are breast cancer in women and prostate cancer in men, and these cancer types, together with lung cancer, often metastasise to the skeleton. Bone scan is used to determine whether metastases are present, and the result of the examination serves as a guide in the choice of treatment strategy. LÄS MER

  4. 19. Laser Diagnostic Techniques with Ultra-High Repetition Rate for Studies in Combustion Environments

    Författare :Jimmy Olofsson; Förbränningsfysik; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; High-Speed; High Repetition Rate; LIF; PLIF; 3D Visualisation; Engine; Teknik; Technological sciences; Fysik; Physics; Combustion; Laserteknik; Laser technology; Laser-Induced Fluorescence; Laser Diagnostics;

    Sammanfattning : When conducting laser based diagnostics in combustion environments it is often desirable to obtain temporally resolved information. This can be due to several factors such as combustion taking place in a turbulent flow field, flame propagation from a spark plug in an initially quiescent combustible mixture, or rapid, multi-point fuel consumption in a homogeneous charge as a result of compression ignition in an engine cycle. 5. 20. Non-invasive diagnostic methods of intracranial arteries

    Författare :Birgitta Ramgren; Lund Diagnostisk radiologi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; intracranial aneurysms; endovascular treatment; follow-up; subarachnoid haemorrhage; digital subtraction angiography; magnetic resonance angiography; computed tomography angiography; technical aspects; contrast agents; image quality;

    Sammanfattning : Aims of this thesis were to compare the agreement of different magnetic resonance angiography(MRA) techniques and digital subtraction angiography (DSA) in follow-up of intracranial aneurysms treated with coils in order to select the best MRA method, to evaluate the impact of increased iodine concentration in contrast medium and decreased tube voltage on arterial attenuation and image quality in computed tomography angiography (CTA) of intracranial arteries, and finally to evaluate the diagnostic accuracy of CTA in non-traumatic subarachnoid haemorrhage (SAH) compared to DSA and to assess the arterial attenuation (HU) as an image quality factor in this aspect. Follow-up DSA and time-of-flight (TOF) MRA at 1. LÄS MER
