11. Diffusion MRI of Small Ischemic Brain Lesions: Technical aspects, clinical experiences and diagnostic criteria
Sammanfattning : Purpose: To compare the visualization of small ischemic brain lesions using diffusion using diffusion-weighted (DW) MRI and conventional imaging, with special regard to diagnostic efficiency. Imaging features of lesions of different ages, diagnostic limitations and technical principles were also investigated. LÄS MER
12. Imaging in Idiopathic Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus : The value of structured radiological evaluation
Sammanfattning : Background: Idiopathic normal pressure hydrocephalus (iNPH) is a neurological condition where the symptoms include disturbed gait, balance, cognition and continence. The diagnostic guidelines are based on typical symptoms combined with imaging showing enlarged ventricles. LÄS MER
13. Calculation of scatter in cone beam CT : Steps towards a virtual tomograph
Sammanfattning : Scattered photons—shortly scatter—are generated by interaction processes when photon beams interact with matter. In diagnostic radiology, they deteriorate image quality since they add an undesirable signal that lowers the contrast in projection radiography and causes cupping and streak artefacts in computed tomography (CT). 14. Quantifying the quality of medical x-ray images. An evaluation based on normal anatomy for lumbar spine and chest radiography
Sammanfattning : Optimisation in diagnostic radiology requires accurate methods for determination of patient absorbed dose and clinical image quality. Simple methods for evaluation of clinical image quality are at present scarce and this project aims at developing such methods. LÄS MER
15. Gadodiamide injection for Enhancement of MRI in the CNS. Applications, dose, field and time dependence
Sammanfattning : Aims of the study The aims of this study using Gadodiamide injection were to investigate: · Whether Gadodiamide injection was comparable to Gd-DTPA for the enhancement of CNS lesions. · The contrast effect at different field strengths. · The effective time-window for the enhancement of blood-brain barrier damage.
