  1. 6. Platform Design : Creating Meaningful Toolboxes When People Meet

    Författare :David Joaquin Cuartielles Ruiz; Teemu Leinonen; Malmö universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; Platform Design; Interaction Design;

    Sammanfattning : Platform Design is a study of different viewpoints on the creation of digital systems, and how they converge in platforms designed, built, and managed by communities. As sociotechnical constructs in which features emerge through the interaction of different stakeholders, platforms are understood as both means and outcomes—the ‘things’ or boundary objects in a design process—generating the spaces where communities of practice can form. 2. 7. Solarscape: The power of humanity in designing solar imaginaries, entangled worlds, and critical sustainable futures

    Författare :Suzanna Törnroth; Åsa Wikberg-Nilsson; Andrea Luciani; Cindy Kohtala; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; design; architecture; solar energy; sustainability; socio-technical transition; Design; Design;

    Sammanfattning : Solarscape is a thesis on the phenomenology of the Solar – an experiential, relational, and critical approach to how humans and humanity world-with solar energy in its different forms and manifestations. Using solar panels as a central artefact of concern, I explore surrounding human and non-human relationships through situated individual and collaborative design practices: workshops, interviews, (auto)ethnography, to name a few. 3. 8. User-Centred Systems Design : Designing Usable Interactive Systems in Practice

    Författare :Bengt Göransson; Jan Gulliksen; Anders Hektor; Liam Bannon; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; user-centred systems design; usability; human-computer interaction; system development; user involvement; usability design; Information technology; Informationsteknologi;

    Sammanfattning : Have you ever been frustrated with that IT system at work that does not behave the way you expect it to? Or had problems with using the features on your new mobile phone? When systems and appliances do not support us in what we are doing, and do not behave the way we expect them to, then usability is neglected. Poor usability may be frustrating and irritating when trying out your mobile phone, but in a critical work situation poor usability may be disastrous. LÄS MER

  4. 9. Circular design in practice: Towards a co-created circular economy through design

    Författare :Giliam Dokter; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; collaboration; circular economy; design for sustainability; co-design; design practice; architecture; co-creation; circular business models; circular design; circularity; industrial design;

    Sammanfattning : In the efforts to stimulate sustainable development, the circular economy represents the most recent attempt to reduce the pressure on the environment by attaining harmony between the economy, environment and society. In theory, this is accomplished by establishing ‘closed-loop’ flows of resources in a way that enables businesses and society to reap benefits from maintaining products, components and materials at their highest utility and value, while simultaneously reducing the generation of waste. 5. 10. Living the Change : Designerly modes of real-life experimentation

    Författare :Martin Sjöman; Sara Ilstedt; Susanne Nilsson; Dan Lockton; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; design methods; transition design; participatory design; living labs; experimentation; sustainability; Art; Technology and Design; Konst; teknik och design; Machine Design; Maskinkonstruktion;

    Sammanfattning : The sustainability transitions required to address the climate crisis cannot be achieved by technology alone; radical lifestyle changes are needed. To contribute to meeting this critical challenge, design must move its focus from individual needs, desires, and behaviors to the level of the complex socio-technical systems that shape our society.
