  1. 16. Circular design in practice: Towards a co-created circular economy through design

    Författare :Giliam Dokter; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; collaboration; circular economy; design for sustainability; co-design; design practice; architecture; co-creation; circular business models; circular design; circularity; industrial design;

    Sammanfattning : In the efforts to stimulate sustainable development, the circular economy represents the most recent attempt to reduce the pressure on the environment by attaining harmony between the economy, environment and society. In theory, this is accomplished by establishing ‘closed-loop’ flows of resources in a way that enables businesses and society to reap benefits from maintaining products, components and materials at their highest utility and value, while simultaneously reducing the generation of waste. 2. 17. Living the Change : Designerly modes of real-life experimentation

    Författare :Martin Sjöman; Sara Ilstedt; Susanne Nilsson; Dan Lockton; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; design methods; transition design; participatory design; living labs; experimentation; sustainability; Art; Technology and Design; Konst; teknik och design; Machine Design; Maskinkonstruktion;

    Sammanfattning : The sustainability transitions required to address the climate crisis cannot be achieved by technology alone; radical lifestyle changes are needed. To contribute to meeting this critical challenge, design must move its focus from individual needs, desires, and behaviors to the level of the complex socio-technical systems that shape our society. 3. 18. Framing the Gaze : (Audio-) Visual Design Intentions and Perceptual Considerations in Film Editing

    Författare :Thorbjörn Swenberg; Yvonne Eriksson; Árni Sverrisson; Pia Tikka; Mälardalens högskola; []
    Nyckelord :HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; moving image editing; film production; TV production; audiovisual design; audiovisual perception; filmklippning; videoredigering; filmproduktion; TV-produktion; audiovisuell design; audiovisuell perception; Innovation and Design; innovation och design; Intercultural Studies;

    Sammanfattning : The theme for this doctoral thesis focuses on how a film editor strives actively to perceptually frame and direct the film viewer’s gaze across film edits. The editor’s (audio-)visual intentions concerning the film viewing correspond to perceptual considerations that the editor makes during film editing. LÄS MER

  4. 19. Body movement as material : Designing temporal expressions

    Författare :Linnea Bågander; Clemens Thornquist; Lise Amy Hansen; Högskolan i Borås; []
    Nyckelord :HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; Design; body; body as material; fashion design; performing arts; temporal form; practice-led research; design methods; motion design; Textiles and Fashion Design ; Textil och mode konstnärlig ;

    Sammanfattning : Movement and temporal qualities have a significant effect on design expressions. However, in the design of dress these are often overlooked, and the static form of a positioned body is considered to be the main driver of design. This work explores the expressions of the body in motion, engaged in the interaction constituted by wearing. LÄS MER

  5. 20. Realtime & Development - modes of knowing design computation in architectural practice

    Författare :Frans Magnusson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Design Methodology; Architectural Practice; Design Theory; Action Research; Computational Design; Design Computation; Design Systems; Project Workflow Management;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis examines theoretical, methodological and organisational implications of design computation for architectural practice - from an insider perspective. It also proposes a conceptual model for knowing within this practice, in an approach that interrelates theory and actionable knowledge. LÄS MER
