21. Analog Circuit Topology Development: Practice methods for technology and teaching based on comprehensible transistor models
Sammanfattning : To obtain adequate knowledge for design of robust analog circuits in industry, circuit engineers gain main knowledge from own practice experience, because theory taught by universities rarely states validity limits and result spreads. Therefore, when going from university to industry, the engineers find this theory nontrustworthy and relinquish it. LÄS MER
22. User engagement in Living Labs : Issues and concerns
Sammanfattning : User engagement and the participatory design approach are well-established in information systems research for many years, and several studies have investigated the challenges of user engagement in the innovation processes. The majority of these studies have discussed participatory design activities – specifically user engagement –in an organizational context. LÄS MER
23. Solar cavity receiver design for a dish-Stirling system
Sammanfattning : The growing concern for the climate change has led to an increasing research effort in renewable energy technologies in order to achieve a more sustainable electricity production. Concentrating Solar Power (CSP) is identified as a promising technology to deal with part of the future electricity production. LÄS MER
24. Aspects of Efficient Parameter Estimation for Diesel Oxidation Catalysts
Sammanfattning : In this thesis the objective was to tune the model parameters of diesel oxidation catalysts (DOC) to measurement data from engine rig experiments in an efficient manner. The scope was however not limited to the algorithm of parameter search alone but instead included the whole process starting with the design of experiments. LÄS MER
25. Developing Internet Interventions to Improve Psychosocial Outcomes in Breast Cancer Survivors : Attitudes and practices in Portuguese cancer settings
Sammanfattning : Background: Despite the psychosocial treatment gap in cancer settings and the significant body of evidence on the efficacy and cost-effectiveness of internet interventions, research targeting Breast Cancer Survivors (BCS) is scant, and implementation in clinical settings is limited. While the reasons for this research and implementation gaps are multifactorial, including funding, technical and organizational barriers, the attitudes of the distinct stakeholders in the internet interventions’ ecosystem have been posited to play an important role in this regard.
