    Författare :Awet Yemane Weldezion; Hannu Tenhunen; Lirong Zheng; Tapani Ahonen; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Alpha-model; Average distance; B-Model; NoC; Zero-load predictive model; deflection routing; q-routing;

    Sammanfattning : Three-Dimensional (3D) integration of circuits based on die and wafer stacking using through-silicon-via is a critical technology in enabling "more-than-Moore", i.e. functional integration of devices beyond pure scaling ("more Moore"). LÄS MER

  2. 2. Aerodynamic Studies of Vertical Axis Wind Turbines using the Actuator Line Model

    Författare :Victor Mendoza; Anders Goude; Hans Bernhoff; Robert Flemming Mikkelsen; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :wind power; vertical axis wind turbines VAWTs ; actuator line model ALM ; dynamic stall model DSM ; atmospheric boundary layer ABL ; wake deflection; atmospheric boundary layer ABL ; Engineering Science with specialization in Science of Electricity; Teknisk fysik med inriktning mot elektricitetslära;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis addresses the unsteady aerodynamics involved in the operation of vertical axis wind turbines (VAWTs). The main focus is to represent and understand the most relevant phenomena within the resulting flow pattern as the wake structure, loads on the different turbine components and the performance of the rotor. 3. 3. Feedback Control of Robotic Friction Stir Welding

    Författare :Jeroen De Backer; Gunnar Bolmsjö; Anna-Karin Christiansson; Jorge Dos Santos; Högskolan Väst; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Friction stir welding; Process automation; Temperature control; Force control; Deflection model; Robotics; Svetsning; FSW; processtyrning; temperaturstyrning; robot; utböjning; kraftstyrning; Industriell arbetsvetenskap; Industrial engineering; Manufacturing and materials engineering; Produktions- och materialteknik;

    Sammanfattning : The Friction Stir Welding (FSW) process has been under constant developmentsince its invention, more than 20 years ago. Whereas most industrial applicationsuse a gantry machine to weld linear joints, there are applications which consistof complex three-dimensional joints, requiring more degrees of freedom fromthe machines. 4. 4. On Rail Vehicle Dynamics in Unsteady Crosswind Conditions : Studies Related to Modelling, Model Validation and Active Suspension

    Författare :Dirk Thomas; Berg Mats; Sebastian Stichel; Jordi Vinolas; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Järnvägsgruppen - Fordonsteknik; Järnvägsgruppen - Fordonsteknik;

    Sammanfattning : Crosswind stability of rail vehicles has been a research area for several decades, mainlymotivated by vehicle overturning accidents and higher speeds, but in recent times also byissues of lower energy consumption and track maintenance costs demanding lower vehi-cle weights. During everyday operation, rail vehicles are subjected to substantial lateralinfluences from track curves, track irregularities and crosswind, leading to large suspen-sion deflections and increased crosswind sensitivity. 5. 5. Moisture-induced stress and distortion of wood : A numerical and experimental study of wood's drying and long-term behaviour

    Författare :Sara Florisson; Sigurdur Ormarsson; Johan Vessby; Kent Persson; Linnéuniversitetet; []
    Nyckelord :LANTBRUKSVETENSKAPER; AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; analytical method; calibration; controlled climate; creep; distortion; experimental methodology; FEM; fibre orientation; mechano-sorption; moisture transport; natural climate; Norway spruce; numerical model; three-dimensional; timber beam; validation; wood; Byggteknik; Civil engineering; Forestry and Wood Technology; Skog och träteknik;

    Sammanfattning : With the current advances made in three-dimensional modelling of wood, it is possible to provide an overall picture of moisture flow, and moisture-induced stress and deformations, whereas previously, experiments only provided local measurements. The main aim of the doctoral thesis is to investigate the possibilities of the developed three-dimensional numerical model to predict the behaviour of wood when simultaneously exposed to a mechanical load and a particular climate.
