1. The Growth of External Ectomycorrhizal Mycelia in the Field in Relation to Host Nutrient Status and Local Addition of Mineral Sources
Sammanfattning : A method based on ingrowth mesh bags was developed to study the production of EMM. These bags were made of nylon mesh with a mesh size of 50 mu-m, which allows colonisation by fungal mycelia but excludes the tree roots. LÄS MER
2. Novel resources enabling comparative regulomics in forest tree species
Sammanfattning : Lignocellulosic plants are the most abundant source of terrestrial biomass and are one of the potential sources of renewable energy that can replace the use of fossil fuels. For a country such as Sweden, where the forest industry accounts for 10% of the total export, there would be large economical benefits associated with increased biomass yield. LÄS MER
3. Electrocardiographic Imaging of Myocardial Ischemia, Infarction and Scar: Correlation with SPECT, MRI and Arrhythmias
Sammanfattning : This thesis focuses on the development and testing of electrocardiographic (ECG) methods to diagnose and characterize myocardial ischemia, infarction and fibrosis (scar). The goal is to provide improved decision support to physicians regarding the optimal selection of patients for two costly, invasive therapies – percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) for patients with acute myocardial infarction (MI) and implantable cardioverter defibrillators (ICDs) for patients with heart failure and reduced left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF). 4. Wood chips for kraft and sulfite pulping : evaluation of novel forest-industrial drum-chipping technology
Sammanfattning : Wood chipping and the supply of high-quality wood chips are of critical importance for most forest-industrial processes. The quality of wood chips affects product yield, product quality, and processability. LÄS MER
5. Urban microclimate and surface hydrometeorological processes
Sammanfattning : The urban near surface atmosphere is of great concern since it affects the climate to which an increasing amount of people are immediately exposed. This study investigated the microclimate in central Stockholm in terms of the thermal conditions in the 0-2. LÄS MER
