1. Att göra vänskap : En kultursociologisk analys av högstadieelevers sociala relationer
Sammanfattning : This doctoral thesis explores how secondary school students perform friendship in a Swedish school. The thesis aims to describe and explain how cultural elements, such as an audience of peers, stages for friendship performances (e.g. LÄS MER
2. Aircraft Design Automation and Subscale Testing : With Special Reference to Micro Air Vehicles
Sammanfattning : This dissertation concerns how design automation as well as rapid prototyping and testing of subscale prototypes can support aircraft design. A framework for design automation has been developed and is applied specifically to Micro Air Vehicles (MAV). LÄS MER
3. Modelling of fatigue crack propagation in Inconel 718 under hold time conditions
Sammanfattning : In this thesis an investigation and modelling of the fatigue crack propagation in the nickel based superalloy Inconel 718, with a special emphasis on the effect of hold times, is presented. The modelling work has been concentrated on describing the hold time fatigue crack propagation by using the concept of a damaged zone in front of the crack tip, which is believed to have a lowered resistance against crack propagation. 4. Implementation and evaluation of an HMA fracture mechanics based design module
Sammanfattning : A thickness design module for flexible pavements, based on the HMA fracture mechanics framework, has been developed in order to design against premature failure caused by cracking. The HMA fracture mechanics based design module has been evaluated by designing typical Swedish pavements under typical Swedish climate and loading conditions and comparing the results with a reference design framework. 5. On Subscale Flight Testing : Applications in Aircraft Conceptual Design
Sammanfattning : Downscaled physical models, also referred to as subscale models, have played an essential role in the investigation of the complex physics of flight until the recent disruption of numerical simulation. Despite the fact that improvements in computational methods are slowly pushing experimental techniques towards a secondary role as verification or calibration tools, real-world testing of physical prototypes still provides an unmatched confidence.
