  1. 1. The use of multi-zone modelling for tunnel fire risk analysis

    Författare :Nils Johansson; Enrico Ronchi; Rugiada Scozzari; Michele Fronterrè; Avdelningen för Brandteknik; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; tunnel fire; risk analysis; multi-zone model; Fire safety;

    Sammanfattning : Tunnel fire risk analysis are a useful tool to ensure adequate safety levels in tunnels. This report presents the work conducted to integrate a multi-zone modelling approach into a fire risk assessment tool, called ARTU. LÄS MER

    Sammanfattning : Objective: Investigate associations between pre-pregnancy participation and performance in a demanding cross-country ski race (proxy for exercise volume and fitness) and perinatal outcomes. Pre-registered protocol: osf.io/aywg2.Design: Prospective cohort study. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Deposition of particles in liquid flows in horizontal straight channels

    Författare :Peiyuan Ni; Lage Tord Ingemar Jonsson; Mikael Ersson; Pär Göran Jönsson; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Particle deposition; Liquid flow; Turbulent flow; Eulerian deposition model; Straight channel;

    Sammanfattning : A flow in a horizontal channel is an important method for the transport of materials, products and/or waste gases/liquids. The deposition of particles in a horizontal channel may clog the flow path. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Cost-effectiveness of acarbose for the management of impaired glucose tolerance in Sweden

    Författare :S Quilici; J Chancellor; G Maclaine; A McGuire; Dan Andersson; JL Chiasson; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :Acarbose economics *therapeutic use; Aged; Cardiovascular Diseases economics prevention control; Cost-Benefit Analysis; Diabetes Mellitus; Type 2 economics prevention control; Female; Glucose Intolerance *drug therapy economics; Glucose Tolerance Test; Health Care Costs *statistics numerical data; Humans; Hypoglycemic Agents economics *therapeutic use; Male; Middle Aged; Sweden;

    Sammanfattning : We assessed the cost-effectiveness of acarbose in the management of patients with impaired glucose tolerance (IGT) in Sweden, based on progression to type 2 diabetes (T2D) and cardiovascular (CV) events reported in the STOP-NIDDM trial population, including high-risk subgroups. The cost per patient free from T2D was SEK28 000 or SEK1260 per diabetes free month prior to progression to T2D. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Sentinel node-assisted neck dissection in advanced oral squamous cell carcinoma - A new protocol for staging and treatment

    Författare :Rusana Bark; Aeneas Kolev; Alexandra Elliot; Krzysztof Piersiala; Anders Näsman; Per Grybäck; Susanna Kumlien Georén; Malin Wendt; Lars Olaf Cardell; Gregori Margolin; Linda Marklund; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; head and neck cancer; metastases; neck dissection; oral squamous cell carcinoma; sentinel node biopsy;

    Sammanfattning : Background: Sentinel lymph node biopsy (SLNB) is used to improve the staging of and guide treatment in patients with early-stage T1-T2 N0 oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC). The role of sentinel nodes (SNs) and the use of SN-technique in advanced OSCC (T3-T4 and/or N+) remain to be evaluated. LÄS MER
