  1. 1. Algorithmically Guided Information Visualization Explorative Approaches for High Dimensional, Mixed and Categorical Data

    Detta är en avhandling från Linköping : Linköping University Electronic Press

    Författare :Sara Johansson Fernstad; Mikael Jern; Jimmy Johansson; Jane Shaw; Matthew O. Ward; [2011]
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Information visualization; data mining; high dimensional data; categorical data; mixed data;

    Sammanfattning : Facilitated by the technological advances of the last decades, increasing amounts of complex data are being collected within fields such as biology, chemistry and social sciences. The major challenge today is not to gather data, but to extract useful information and gain insights from it. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Image Based Visualization Methods for Meteorological Data

    Detta är en avhandling från Institutionen för teknik och naturvetenskap

    Författare :Björn Olsson; Anders Ynnerman; Reiner Lenz; Anders Hast; [2004]
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Visualization; Meteorological Data; Artificial Neural Networks; High-Dynamic-Range images; Satellite Data; Classification; TECHNOLOGY Information technology Computer science; TEKNIKVETENSKAP Informationsteknik Datavetenskap;

    Sammanfattning : Visualization is the process of constructing methods, which are able to synthesize interesting and informative images from data sets, to simplify the process of interpreting the data. In this thesis a new approach to construct meteorological visualization methods using neural network technology is described. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Collaborative Visualization Designing and evaluating systems for co-located work

    Detta är en avhandling från Uppsala : Acta Universitatis Upsaliensis

    Författare :Lars Winkler Pettersson; Stefan Seipel; Anders Jansson; Oliver Bimber; [2008]
    Nyckelord :Visualization; Human-Computer Interaction; Collaboration; Co-located Visualization; Computer Supported Cooperative Work;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis investigates new ways of using information visualization to support collaboration in co-located work. To study this phenomenon, Multiple Viewer Display Environments (MVDEs) with independent views have been applied to present information such that all viewers at the same time and in the same display can see correct views of 3D models, see correctly oriented text and see different parts and aspects of information in each view. 4. 4. Visualization of Causal Relations

    Detta är en avhandling från Uppsala : Acta Universitatis Upsaliensis

    Författare :Niklas Elmqvist; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; information visualization; causality visualization; citation network visualization; causal relations;

    Sammanfattning : The notion of cause and effect is pervasive in human thinking and plays a significant role in our perception of time. Software systems, in particular parallel and distributed ones, are permeated by this causality, and the human mind is especially well-suited to detect instances of this concept. LÄS MER

  5. 5. User-Centered Collaborative Visualization

    Detta är en avhandling från Växjö : Linnaeus University Press

    Författare :Daniel Cernea; Andreas Kerren; Achim Ebert; Helen C. Purchase; [2015]
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; collaborative information visualization; computer-supported cooperative work CSCW ; user-centered design; emotion visualization; affective user interface; tabletop; touch surfaces; nestable tangibles; subjective evaluation; Information and software visualization; Informations- och programvisualisering; Computer Science; Datavetenskap;

    Sammanfattning : The last couple of years have marked the entire field of information technology with the introduction of a new global resource, called data. Certainly, one can argue that large amounts of information and highly interconnected and complex datasets were available since the dawn of the computer and even centuries before. LÄS MER
