  2. 17. Cation Conduction and Coordination in Carbonyl-Containing Compounds : Li+ Transport in Alternative Polymer Electrolyte Host Materials

    Författare :Therese Eriksson; Daniel Brandell; Jonas Mindemark; Claudio Gerbaldi; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Solid polymer electrolytes; Lithium ion batteries; Ion transport; Polyester; Polycarbonate; Polyketone; Ion coordination; Kemi med inriktning mot materialkemi; Chemistry with specialization in Materials Chemistry;

    Sammanfattning : The field of solid polymer electrolytes (SPEs) used to create safer lithium-ion batteries has been dominated by polyethylene oxide (PEO) since the discovery of its ion-conducting properties in the 1970s. In this thesis, as an alternative, the ion coordination and conduction properties of SPEs based on polyketones, polyesters and polycarbonates are investigated. LÄS MER

  3. 18. Regulation of Fibroblast Activity by Keratinocytes

    Författare :Daniel Nowinski; Mikael Ivarsson; Bengt Gerdin; Elof Ph D M.D. Eriksson; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Surgery; conective tissue growth factor; interleukin-1; fibroblast; keratinocyte; wound healing; burns; Kirurgi; Surgery; Kirurgi;

    Sammanfattning : In the healing of cutaneous wounds, paracrine communication between keratinocytes and fibroblasts regulates cell differentiation, proliferation and synthesis of extracellular matrix. Deficient epidermal coverage, as seen in burn-wounds, frequently results in hypertrophic scars. LÄS MER

  4. 19. On the Design of Affibody Molecules for Radiolabeling and In Vivo Molecular Imaging

    Författare :Daniel Rosik; Amelie Eriksson Karlström; Christian Heinis; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Affibody molecule; AC DC; radionuclide molecular imaging; HER2; SPECT; PET; biodistribution; peptide synthesis; radiolabeling; SRA - Molecular Bioscience; SRA - Molekylär biovetenskap;

    Sammanfattning : Affibody molecules have lately shown great potential as tools for in vivo molecular imaging. These small, 3-helical bundles, with their highly stable protein scaffold, are well suited for the often harsh conditions of radiolabeling. LÄS MER

  5. 20. Human brains and virtual realities : Computer-generated presence in theory and practice

    Författare :Daniel Sjölie; Lars-Erik Janlert; Johan Eriksson; Giuseppe Riva; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Human brain function; virtual reality; presence; cognitive neuroscience; human-computer interaction; brain imaging; fMRI; BCI; neural correlates; HCI theory; reality-based interaction.;

    Sammanfattning : A combined view of the human brain and computer-generated virtual realities is motivated by recent developments in cognitive neuroscience and human-computer interaction (HCI). The emergence of new theories of human brain function, together with an increasing use of realistic human-computer interaction, give reason to believe that a better understanding of the relationship between human brains and virtual realities is both possible and valuable.
