1. Stressing Knowledge : Organisational closed-ness and knowledge acquisition under pressure
Sammanfattning : Organisations have been analytically conceptualised as being somewhat analogous to individuals for a long time. They have culture; they can learn; and they can behave in various odd ways. LÄS MER
2. The floor is yours: A conversation analytic study of teachers' conduct facilitating whole-class discussions around texts
Sammanfattning : This dissertation reports on detailed interaction research into the ways in which primary school teachers provide space for discussion during history lessons. Teachers participating in this project were asked to hold whole-class discussions on the basis of the textbook texts, instead of having their students complete written exercises individually. LÄS MER
3. How do fluids move through rocks? : High fluxes of CO2 in the Earth's crust
Sammanfattning : Metamorphic hydrous, CO2-bearing fluids play a critical role in the global carbon cycle. However, how big this influence is on the global carbon cycle and therefore on global climatic processes, is unknown. The actual amount of CO2 which is released into the atmosphere due to metamorphic processes is still debated. LÄS MER
4. Cohesive and Spectroscopic properties of the Lanthanides within the Hubbard I Approximation
Sammanfattning : We describe the rare-earth elements using the Hubbard I approximation. We show that the theory reproduces the cohesive properties, like the volume and bulk modulus, and we find an excellent agreement between theory and experiment for the (inverse) photo emission spectra of the valence band. 5. Hospitalizations for Ambulatory Care-Sensitive Conditions in Brazil and Portugal : A Comparative Study
Sammanfattning : Background: Ambulatory Care Sensitive Conditions (ACSC) are health conditions for which adequate management, treatment and interventions delivered in outpatient setting could avoid the need of hospital admission. Hospitalizations for ACSC have been used to assess access, quality, and performance of the Primary Health Care (PHC). LÄS MER
