1. Theoretical studies of chemical dynamics on excited states, driven by non-adiabatic effects : Charge recombination reactions
Sammanfattning : This thesis is based on theoretical studies of molecular collisions occurring at relatively low to intermediate collision energies. The collisions are called dissociative recombination (DR) and mutual neutralization (MN). LÄS MER
2. Molecular Hole Punching : Impulse Driven Reactions in Molecules and Molecular Clusters
Sammanfattning : When molecules are excited by photons or energetic particles, they will cool through the emission of photons, electrons, or by fragmenting. Such processes are often thermal as they occur after the excitation energy has been redistributed across all degrees-of-freedom in the system. LÄS MER
3. Immune defense reactions in freshwater crayfish : Cellular components
Sammanfattning : The freshwater signal crayfish, Pacifastacus leniusculus, is a well-established model for studying the immune system of invertebrates. Many important discoveries have been made in this species, among others related to the clotting reaction, hematopoiesis, the prophenoloxidase activating system, the functions of crustacean immune cells, and pathogen recognition. 4. Borderline psychopathology and the defense mechanism test
Sammanfattning : The main purpose of the present studies has been to develop the Defense Mechanism Test (DM1) for clinical assessment of severe psychopathology with the focus on the concept of Borderline Personality Organization (BPO) according to Kemberg. By relating the DMT and the Structural Interview to each other, the concurrent validity of the concept of Personality Organization (PO) for psychiatric inpatients has been investigated. LÄS MER
5. Catalytic reactions with palladium supported on mesocellular foam : Applications in hydrogenation, isomerization, and C-C bond forming reactions
Sammanfattning : The major part of this thesis concerns the development of catalytic methodologies based on palladium nanoparticles immobilized on aminopropyl-functionalized siliceous mesocellular foam (Pd0-AmP-MCF). The catalytic activity of the precursor to the nanocatalyst, PdII-AmP-MCF is also covered by this work. LÄS MER
