  1. 1. Population Pharmacodynamic Modeling and Methods for D2-receptor Antagonists

    Författare :Klas Petersson; Lena Friberg; Mats Karlsson; An Vermeulen; Robert Bies; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; population modeling; schizophrenia; D2-antagonists; pharmacodynamics; drug development;

    Sammanfattning : Early predictions of a potential drug candidate’s time-course of effect and side-effects, based on models describing drug concentrations, drug effects and disease progression, would be valuable to make drug development more efficient. Pharmacodynamic modeling can incorporate and propagate prior knowledge and be used for simulations of different scenarios. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Development of novel serotonin 5-HT6 and dopamine D2 receptor ligands and MAO A inhibitors - Synthesis, structure-activity relationships and pharmacological characterization

    Författare :Cecilia Mattsson; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; dopamine D2 receptor; serotonin reuptake transporter; monoamine oxidase; 5-HT6 receptor; DOPAC; 5-HIAA; 3-tetrahydropyridine indole; 3-piperidine indole; 3- pyrrolidin-1-ylmethyl chromen-2-one; dopamine D2 receptor;

    Sammanfattning : It is known since the 1950s that enhancement of the levels of the monoamines dopamine (DA), serotonin (5-hydroxytryptamine, 5-HT) and norepinephrine (NE) in the brain will relieve the symptoms of major depression, and current therapies are still based on this mechanism. However, all available antidepressants today are still suffering from slow onset of therapeutic action, as well as adverse effects and lack of efficacy. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Synthesis, Pharmacological Characterization and QSAR Modelling of 4-Phenylpiperidines and 4-Phenylpiperazines Effects on the dopaminergic neurotransmission in vivo

    Författare :Fredrik Pettersson; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; dopamine; D2; monoamine oxidase; DOPAC; in vivo; QSAR; dopaminergic stabilizer;

    Sammanfattning : The endogenous neurotransmitter dopamine (DA) is involved in several functions that are controlled from the central nervous system (CNS), for example behaviour, memory, cognition and reward. A disturbed dopaminergic neurotransmission may lead to many severe conditions, such as schizophrenia, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) or Parkinson's disease (PD). LÄS MER
