  1. 1. Cyclin A and cyclin E as prognostic factors in early breast cancer

    Författare :Cecilia Ahlin; Marie-Louise Fjällskog; Carl Blomqvist; Göran Landberg; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :Oncology; breast cancer; chemotherapy; cyclin A; cyclin E; aberrant cyclin E; Ki-67; TMA; Onkologi;

    Sammanfattning : Breast cancer is one of the most common malignancies in women. Due to early detection and the use of screening programs approximately 60% of all new cases lack lymph node involvement. Today, a substantial proportion of these women will be offered adjuvant systemic chemotherapy. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Cyclin E overexpression and associated events in human breast cancer

    Författare :Maria Stighall; Malmö Patologi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; patologisk anatomi; Patologi allmän ; pathological anatomy; General pathology; tumour growth pattern; invasion; proliferation; ID2; cyclin E; pRb; cell cycle; breast cancer;

    Sammanfattning : Unrestrained proliferation is a hallmark of cancer and genetic defects within G1/S-phase regulation and the pRb pathway occur frequently. Proliferation control can be circumvented either by excess cyclin D1 or cyclin E, alterations that can define two alternative tumour biologic pathways in breast cancer. LÄS MER

  3. 3. The role of cyclin E in cell cycle regulation and genomic instability

    Författare :Susanna Ekholm-Reed; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :Cyclin E; cell cycle; Restriction point; pre-RC; Mcm proteins; DNA replication; tumorigenesis; proteolysis; hCdc4;

    Sammanfattning : Cyclin E, a positive regulatory subunit of Cdk2, normally accumulates periodically at the G1/S transition, where it promotes entry into S phase and other DNA replication-associated functions. However, in many types of human cancer, cyclin E is overexpressed and in some cases its expression becomes deregulated, a phenomenon generally associated with poor prognosis. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Cell cycle perspectives on breast cancer cell behaviour

    Författare :Pontus Berglund; Malmö Experimentell patologi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; invasion; breast cancer; migration; proliferation; cyclin D1; cyclin E;

    Sammanfattning : Uncontrolled proliferation and the capacity to infiltrate surrounding tissues are two important characteristics of aggressive tumour cells. Previous observations in both colorectal cancer and basal cell carcinoma indicated that infiltrative tumour cell behaviour might be counteracted by a high proliferative activity, suggesting a coordination of these two activities at the cellular level. 5. 5. Immunofluorescence studies on the cell cycle expression of cyclin A and cyclin E

    Författare :Fredrik Erlandsson; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :Cell cycle regulation; cyclin A; cyclin E; immunofluorescence staining;

    Sammanfattning : Cell cycle progression is tightly regulated in normal eucaryotic cells. Cancer is caused by the transformation of cells, and is always associated with defects in the cell cycle regulatory machinery. LÄS MER
