  1. 1. Photosensitivity in cutaneous lupus erythematosus clinical and experimental studies

    Författare :Filippa Nyberg; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :Lupus Erythematosus; skin; photosensitivity; polymorphous light eruption PLE ; adhesion molecules; ICAM-1; VCAM-1; E-selectin; fibroblasts; cytokines; UV light; UVA; UVB;

    Sammanfattning : Lupus erythematosus (LE) is an autoimmune disease in which the skin is one of the main target organs. Photosensitivity is a common feature for the different subtypes of cutaneous LE, but photosensitivity has not been well defined. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Cutaneous lupus erythematosus : epidemiology, association with SLE and comorbidity

    Författare :Carina Grönhagen; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : Lupus erythematosus (LE) is a disease that includes a broad spectrum of symptoms, from localized cutaneous LE (CLE) to severe systemic LE (SLE). Based on histopathological changes, the skin manifestations of LE can be divided into LE-specific (=CLE) and LE-non-specific manifestations. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Cutaneous lupus erythematosus and immunoreactivity in patients with Ro/SSA autoantibodies

    Författare :Karin Popovic; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :Cutaneous lupus erythematosus; Ro SSA autoantibodies; incidence; prevalence; photosensitivity; autoimmunity; HMGBI; Ro52;

    Sammanfattning : Lupus crythematosus (LE) is a heterogenous autoimmune disorder with many different clinical presentations. Cutaneous lupus erythematosus (CLE) is subdivided into acute, subacute and chronic CLE. Population-based epidemiologic studies of CLE are lacking arid the pathogenesis is not fully understood. 4. 4. Studies on molecular regulation of inflammation in cutaneous lupus erythematosus

    Författare :Vilija Oke; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : Lupus erythematosus (LE) is an autoimmune disease with a wide range of clinical manifestations. This spectrum spans from limited cutaneous disease to life-threatening rheumatic disorder involving vital organs. Sun exposure is an evident exogenous trigger of both cutaneous (CLE) and systemic LE (SLE). LÄS MER

  5. 5. Autoantibodies and the Type I Interferon System in the Etiopathogenesis of Systemic Lupus Erythematosus

    Författare :Stina Blomberg; Johan Frostegård; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Medicine; Systemic lupus erythematosus; type I interferon; interferon inducer; dendritic cell; natural interferon-alpha producing cell; immune complex; SSA Ro; dsDNA; BDCA; Medicin; Dermatology and venerology; clinical genetics; internal medicine; Dermatologi och venerologi; klinisk genetik; invärtesmedicin; Medicine; medicin;

    Sammanfattning : In sera remitted for anti-nuclear antibody (ANA) analysis, the supplement of a sensitive anti-SSA/Ro ELISA to the conventional ANA screening by immunofluorescence (IF) revealed that one fourth of the individuals with IF-ANA negative, but SSA/Ro ELISA positive sera, had systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) or cutaneous LE. Consequently, adding a sensitive anti-SSA/Ro ELISA to the ANA screening is valuable for the serological detection of ANA negative SLE/LE patients. LÄS MER
