    Nyckelord :ulcerative colitis; ulcerative proctitis; epidemiology; incidence; prevalence; genetics; twins; colonic glycoproteins; smoking; primary sclerosing cholangitis; MEDICINE; MEDICIN;

    Sammanfattning : In an epidemiologic study of ulcerative proctocolitis during the period 1963-1987, annual incidence rates increased fourfold and was during the last 10 years 13.1/105 inhabitants.     Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Microscopic colitis; collagenous colitis; lymphocytic colitis; intraepithelial lymphocytes; lamina propria lymphocytes; T cell receptor excision circle; T helper cells; cytotoxic T lymphocyte and mucosal cytokines; Biomedicin; Biomedicine;

    Sammanfattning : Microscopic colitis (MC) is a chronic diarrhoeal disease of unknown aetiology, comprising collagenous colitis (CC) and lymphocytic colitis (LC). The nature of the adaptive local immune responses in the mucosa of MC patients is however far from elucidated. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Ulcerative colitis : colorectal cancer risk and surveillance in an unselected population

    Författare :Jan Lindberg; Curt Tysk; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :ulcerative colitis; colonoscopic surveillance; colorectal cancer; dysplasia; DNA aneuploidy; cytokeratin; colorectal resection; early onset; Surgery; kirurgi;

    Sammanfattning : Ulcerative colitis is a chronic inflammatory disease that mainly affects the colon and rectum. Onset of disease is most common between the ages of 15-35 years. There is an observed increased risk of colorectal cancer associated with the disease. The risk is often described to be 2% after 10 years, 8% after 20 years and 18% after 30 years disease. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Collagenous Colitis : A Study of Inflammatory Mediators and Growth Factors Based on Segmental Colorectal Perfusion and Immunohistochemistry

    Författare :Yesuf Ahmed Taha; Magnus Thörn; Yngve Raab; Lars Lööf; Mikael Lördal; Curt Tysk; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :General; Collagenous; Collagenous colitis; inflammatory mediators; Steroid treatment; Eosinophil Cationic Protein; Basic Fibroblast Growth Factor bFGF ; Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor VEGF ; albumin; ALLMÄNT;

    Sammanfattning : Collagenous colitis (CC) is an inflammatory bowel disease of unknown etiology. It is characterized by watery diarrhoea without blood, normal endoscopic findings but microscopically colonic mucosal inflammation and increased thickness of the subepithelial collagen band, the latter being a pathognomonic sign.
