  1. 1. Characterisation of CtBP : A Co-Repressor of Transcription that Interacts with the Adenovirus E1A Protein

    Författare :Anders Sundqvist; Anthony Wright; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Biochemistry; CtBP; HDAC; adenovirus; E1A; gene expression; repression; Biokemi; Biochemistry; Biokemi; Medical Virology; medicinsk virologi;

    Sammanfattning : In this study, adenovirus E1A has been used to target and analyse the transcriptional function of the cellular C-terminal Binding Protein (CtBP).Transcription is a complex biochemical process that represents a major regulatory step in gene expression. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Modulation of Adenovirus E1A Activities by the Cellular Corepressor CtBP

    Författare :Cecilia Johansson; Catharina Svensson; Laszlo Szekely; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Cell and molecular biology; Adenovirus; E1A; CtBP; transcription regulation; TetON; microarray; Cell- och molekylärbiologi; Cell and molecular biology; Cell- och molekylärbiologi;

    Sammanfattning : Adenovirus E1A is needed to activate early viral genes and induce cell cycle progression to optimise the conditions for viral replication. This is mostly achieved through interactions between the first exon of E1A and cellular transcriptional regulatory proteins. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Studies on two transcription regulatory proteins : cellular c-Jun and adenovirus E1A

    Författare :Kerstin Sollerbrant; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :adenovirus; EIA; EIB; transcription; CtBP; c-Jun; Gal4;

    Sammanfattning : Adenoviruses cause lytic infections in a range of mammalian cells, but can in certain cases also transform the host cell. The first adenovirus gene to be expressed upon infection is E1A. The E1A gene encodes two major proteins of 243 and 289 amino acids, respectively, both of which serve as key regulators during virus infection. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Microenvironmental regulation of neural stem cell differentiation

    Författare :Esra Karaca; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : The central nervous system consists of complex networks of neurons and other specialized cells that process information from within and outside the organism to create an output. The development of this complex machinery requires spatio-temporal regulation of neural stem cell (NSC) differentiation into the right type of cells at the right time. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Microenvironmental control and molecular detection of neural stem cell state and fate

    Författare :Shirin Ilkhanizadeh; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : Neural stem cell growth and specialization is dependent on microenvironmental cues, such as growth factors, oxygen levels and substrate stiffness. Together these cues define the genetic and epigenetic program of neural stem cells. In our studies we have manipulated these cues in order to achieve better control of neural stem cell state and fate. LÄS MER
