  2. 2. Innate Confinement Effects in PCL Oligomers as a  Route to Confined Space Crystallisation

    Författare :Nima Sanandaji; Ulf W. Gedde; Mikael Hedenqvist; Lars Kloo; Ulrica Edlund; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Crystallisation; Polycaprolactone; PCL; Confined state crystallisation; Metastable Phases; Chemistry; Kemi;

    Sammanfattning : In this work, an in-depth analysis of crystalline characteristics has been performed for a unique set of strictly monodisperse poly-ε-caprolactone (PCL) oligomers. The molecules have different sets of end groups with various degrees of bulkiness and hydrogen bonding potential, affecting their aptitude to pack in ordered crystal structures. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Different paths to explore confined crystallisation of PCL

    Författare :Nima Sanandaji; Ulf W. Gedde; Mikael S Hedenqvist; Javier Martinez de Salazar; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; crystallisation; poly-ε-caprolactone; end groups; morphology; nanoconfinement; melting; monodisperse; RESS; injet printing;

    Sammanfattning : In this work, different paths to confined crystallisation of poly(ε-caprolactone) (PCL) havebeen explored. Innate confinement effects due to the presence of bulky end groups wereshown to affect crystalline characteristics for strictly monodisperse ε-caprolactone oligomers. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Crystallisation of star polyesters with poly (ε-caprolactone) arms : approaching the problem of early stages in polymer crystallisation

    Författare :Eugenia Núñez; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :Technology; TEKNIKVETENSKAP; TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIKVETENSKAP;

    Sammanfattning : The knowledge regarding early stages in polymer crystallisation remains inconclusive due to experimental limitations. The reason is that the initially formed polymer crystals rearrange rapidly at the crystallisation temperature. Faster experimental techniques or simulation would be suitable alternatives to approach the problem. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Molecular Mechanisms Influencing the Performance of Amorphous Formulations for Poorly Water-Soluble Drugs

    Författare :Khadijah Edueng; Christel Bergström; Denny Mahlin; Michael Hageman; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :Amorphous formulation; crystallisation; supersaturation; glass-forming ability; physical stability; glass stability; spray-dried solid dispersion; dissolution; promiscuous glass former; poorly-soluble drug; solid-to-solid; solution-mediated; particle-associated; Farmaceutisk vetenskap; Pharmaceutical Science;

    Sammanfattning : Crystallisation is a concern for amorphous formulation because it compromises the solubility-enhancing benefit gained from amorphisation. Traditionally, amorphous formulation had been designed primarily based on trial-and-error approach. LÄS MER
