11. Computational Multiscale Modeling of Pearlitic Steel
Sammanfattning : The objective of this thesis is to investigate the possibilities to describe the mechanical behaviorof a pearlitic steel by using computational homogenization, or multiscale modeling. The proposed model contains three scales: the engineering macroscale, the mesoscale representing the colonies of the pearlite and the microscale containing the individual cementite lamellae and the ferrite matrix. 12. Computational modeling of oxygen-assisted fracture in nickel-based superalloys
Sammanfattning : Nickel-based superalloys are a commonly used material in applications where high strength is required at high temperatures. A typical such example is jet engines and, in the case of polycrystalline nickel-based superalloys, components like turbine disks. LÄS MER
13. On multiscale modeling of pearlitic steel
Sammanfattning : By studying pearlitic steels using a scanning electron microscope it can be observed that pearlite is a two-phase material with cementite lamellae embedded in a matrix of ferrite. The cementite is commonly described as being stiff and brittle in comparison to the ferrite which is considered to have a soft and ductile mechanical behavior. LÄS MER
14. Modeling and experimental characterization of large biaxial strains and induced anisotropy in pearlitic rail steel
Sammanfattning : Large shear strains accumulate in the near-surface region under the running band of railway rails. In this region, rolling contact fatigue cracks often initiate, causing major problems for the railway industry. LÄS MER
15. Relationship Between Crystal Structure and Mechanical Properties in Cocrystals and Salts of Paracetamol
Sammanfattning : Oral tablets are convenient and widely administered drugdosage forms. The mechanical properties of a drug substance such as plasticity, ability to cohere into compacts and friction/adhesion are important in the development of a tablet formulation. LÄS MER
