    Detta är en avhandling från Umeå : Umeå University

    Författare :W. K. Anjana Madhushani; Umeå universitet.; [2015]
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; P. putida; Phenol catabolism; dmpR; dmp-System; 5’-LR; Carbon Catabolite Repression; Transcriptional Translational regulation; Crc; CrcZ; CrcY; Hfq;

    Sammanfattning : Metabolically versatile bacteria have evolved diverse strategies to adapt to different environmental niches and respond to fluctuating physico-chemical parameters. In order to survive in soil and water habitats, they employ specific and global regulatory circuits to integrate external and internal signals to counteract stress and optimise their energy status. 2. 2. DNA methylation in the placenta and in cancerwith special reference to folate transporting genes

    Detta är en avhandling från Örebro : Örebro university

    Författare :Sanja Farkas; Örebro universitet.; [2014]
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; DNA methylation; CRC; placenta; cervix; leukocytes; T-DMRs; folate; array; expression; Biomedicin; Biomedicine;

    Sammanfattning : DNA methylation is an epigenetic mechanism that regulates the gene transcription. Folate is used in cellular synthesis of methyl groups, nucleic acids and amino acids. In complex diseases like cancer and neural tube defects (NTD), various genetic and epigenetic alterations can be found that disrupt the normal cell function. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Molecular and Biological Characteristics of Stroma and Tumor Cells in Colorectal Cancer

    Detta är en avhandling från Linköping University Electronic Press

    Författare :Jingfang Gao; Linköpings universitet.; Linköpings universitet.; [2008]
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Carcinogenesis; genetic alterations; colorectal cancer CRC ; cysteine-histidine rich protein PINCH ; Inflammatory infiltration; Angiogenesis; lymphangiogenesis; MEDICINE Surgery Oncology; MEDICIN Kirurgi Onkologi;

    Sammanfattning : Carcinogenesis is a progressive process involving multiple genetic alterations in tumor cells and complex interactions in the tumor-host microenvironment. To better understand the contribution of molecular alterations in tumor cells and stromal variables to the development of colorectal cancer (CRC) and identify prognostic factors, in this study we examined the clinicopathological and biological significance of stromal variables, including particularly interesting new cysteine-histidine rich protein (PINCH), inflammatory infiltration, angiogenesis and lymphangiogenesis, as well as hRAD50/hMRE11/hNBS1 proteins and hRAD50 mutation in tumor cell in CRC. 5. 5. Tumor progression in the ovary and colon. The interaction of Wnt-signaling, transcription and formation of prostaglandins

    Detta är en avhandling från Göteborg

    Författare :Katarina Rask; Göteborgs universitet.; Gothenburg University.; [2003]
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; CCAAT Enhancer Binding Proteins C EBPs ; Wingless Wnt Wnt signaling pathway; Cyclooxygenases COXs ; colorectal cancer CRC ; epithelial ovarian cancer EOC ;

    Sammanfattning : Alterations in cell-cell adhesion, intracellular signaling and transcriptional regulation are common events during transformation of cells to the malignant phenotype. Different cellular defense mechanisms, e.g. inflammatory responses, mediated by prostaglandins, have also been associated with tumor development. LÄS MER
