  1. 11. Chloride Induced Corrosion of Steel Bars in Fibre Reinforced Concrete

    Författare :Carlos Gil Berrocal; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; electrical resistivity; chloride ingress; fibre reinforced concrete; crack width; reinforced concrete durability; chloride-induced corrosion;

    Sammanfattning : Chloride-induced corrosion of reinforcement is the most widespread degradation mechanism affecting the durability of reinforced concrete structures. Macro-cracks provide a preferential path for moisture, oxygen and Cl ions to reach the embedded reinforcement, playing a major role in their total transport. LÄS MER

  2. 12. Anisotropy in pearlitic steel subjected to rolling contact fatigue - modelling and experiments

    Författare :NASIM LARIJANI; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; pearlitic steel; crack propagation; Rolling Contact Fatigue; Anisotropy; plasticity; High Pressure Torsion;

    Sammanfattning : In rails and wheels subjected to severe rolling/sliding contact, large plastic deformations accumulate in the surface layer. This decreases the fatigue resistance of components and makes this layer prone to formation of common rolling contact related defects. LÄS MER

  3. 13. Modelling of fracture toughness using peridynamics : A Study of J-integral, essential work and homogenisation

    Författare :Christer Stenström; Pär Jonsén; Kjell Eriksson; Ugo Galvanetto; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Peridynamics; J-integral; Essential work of fracture; Nonlocal methods; Meshless; Meshfree; Fracture; Crack tip; Exact analytical; Center cracked tension; Double edge notched tensile; fracture toughness; Peridynamik; Brottmekanik; Sprickspets; Brottseghet; Spänningsintensitet; Hållfasthetslära; Solid Mechanics;

    Sammanfattning : Fracture toughness is one of the most important properties of a material. Being able toaccurately estimate the energy that goes into forming new crack surfaces is essential for the development of new materials, quality assurance, structural monitoring and failure analysis. 4. 14. The influence of microstructure on the crack initiation and propagation in Al-Si casting alloys

    Författare :Toni Bogdanoff; Salem Seifeddine; Ehsan Ghassemali; Anders E.W. Jarfors; Johan Moverare; Jönköping University; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Aluminum-Silicon alloys; scanning electron microscopy; material characterization; fatigue performance; digital image correlation;

    Sammanfattning : For reducing the CO2 footprint in many industrial fields, the goal is to produce lighter components. The aluminium-silicon (Al-Si) cast alloys are promising candidates to fulfill these goals with a high weight-to-strength ratio, good corrosion properties, excellent castability, and recyclable material. 5. 15. Residual Stress Analysis and Fatigue Assessment of Welded Steel Structures

    Författare :Zuheir Barsoum; Jack Samuelsson; Dan Zenkert; Stephen Maddox; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; fatigue failure; welding; weld defects; welded joints; stress concentration; residual stress; linear elastic fracture mechanics; welding simulation; finite element analysis; fatigue crack growth.; Engineering mechanics; Teknisk mekanik;

    Sammanfattning : This doctoral thesis is concerned with fatigue life of welded structures. Several topics related to fatigue of welded structures are treated such as; weld defects and their influence on fatigue performance of welded structures, fatigue life prediction using LEFM (Linear Elastic Fracture Mechanics), fatigue testing, welding simulation, residual stress prediction and measurement and their influence on fatigue life.
