  1. 1. Cancer Immunotherapy A Preclinical Study of Urinary Bladder Cancer

    Detta är en avhandling från Uppsala : Acta Universitatis Upsaliensis

    Författare :Christina Ninalga; Uppsala universitet.; [2006]
    Nyckelord :Medicine; immunotherapy; bladder carcinoma; cancer; CpG ODNs; Adenoviral vector; CD40L; TRANCE; Lymphotactin; IL2; IL15; Medicin;

    Sammanfattning : Bacillus Calmette Guérin (BCG), or attenuated Mycobacterium bovis, is the gold standard of immunotherapy in the clinic to treat superficial bladder cancer. However, setbacks remain due to a high recurrence rate, side effects, and BCG-refractory disease. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Immunological Checkpoint Blockade and TLR Stimulation for Improved Cancer Therapy

    Detta är en avhandling från Uppsala : Acta Universitatis Upsaliensis

    Författare :Sara Mangsbo; Uppsala universitet.; [2009]
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; CpG ODNs; TLR-9; CTLA-4; PD-1; PD-L1; B7. Sammanfattning : This thesis concerns the investigation of novel immunotherapies for cancer eradication. CpG therapy was used in order to target antigen-presenting cells (APCs), facilitating antigen presentation and activation of T cells. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Modulation of inflammation by immunostimulatory DNA

    Detta är en avhandling från Uppsala : Acta Universitatis Upsaliensis

    Författare :Jan Bjersing; Göteborgs universitet.; Gothenburg University.; [2004]
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; CpG DNA; arthritis; phosphodiester; phosphorothioate; nucleotide modification; cytokines; chemokines; FcgammaR; B cell subsets.;

    Sammanfattning : The aim of this thesis was to elucidate the roles of different types of DNA in inflammatory responses. We compared the immune responses to nuclease-protected phosphorothioate oligodeoxynucleotides (S-ODNs) and phosphodiester oligodeoxynucleotides (O-ODNs) that either contained or lacked CpG motifs. 4. 4. Studies of innate immune stimulation with CpG in HIV infection

    Detta är en avhandling från Stockholm : Karolinska Institutet, Department of Microbiology, Tumor and Cell Biology

    Författare :Salma Nowroozalizadeh; Karolinska Institutet.; Karolinska Institutet.; [2008]
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES;

    Sammanfattning : Two types of human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) may cause acquired immune deficiency syndrome (AIDS): HIV-1, the most pathogenic virus of the two and found worldwide, and HIV-2, which is mostly detected in West Africa and known to be less transmissible and which demonstrates slower progression towards immunodeficiency. How CD4+ T cells are lost during these two infections is not yet completely clear; however, a constant battle against the rapid viral turnover, resulting in chronic inflammation, is thought to exhaust several compartments of the immune system. 5. 5. Host-bacterium relationship in staphylococcal skin infection

    Detta är en avhandling från Göteborg

    Författare :Lena Mölne; Göteborgs universitet.; Gothenburg University.; Göteborgs universitet.; Gothenburg University.; [2003]
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Staphylococcus aureus; skin; mice; superantigen; TSST-1; neutrophils; gamma delta T cells; bacterial DNA; CpG ODN;

    Sammanfattning : Skin infections caused by Staphylococcus aureus are commonly occuring, both in the community and in hospitals. Despite the high prevalence of this condition, little is known about the host immune responsiveness and bacterial virulence factors during S. aureus skin infection. LÄS MER
