6. Time-Resolved Optical Properties of Colloidal CdSe-CdS/ZnS Core-Multishell Quantum Dots in Bioimaging
Sammanfattning : Semiconductor quantum dots (QDs) have attracted great attention as a novel fluorescent material in the last twenty years. Their superior optical properties such as high brightness and photostability, broad absorption spectrum, narrow and size-tunable emission spectrum, enable them great application in bioimaging. 7. Fragmentation studies of small molecules using synchrotron radiation
Sammanfattning : This thesis presents experimental data on the fragmentationof gas phase sulfur hexafluoride (SF6) and deutheromethane(CD4) molecules after their interaction with synchrotronradiation in the energy range of 70-200 eV. The data wasobtained using coincidence spectroscopy between energy resolvedelectrons and ions (EREICO). LÄS MER
8. Quantum nuclear dynamics in x-ray scattering and lasing
Sammanfattning : This thesis presents a theoretical study of the role of nuclear degrees of freedom in the x-ray absorption, x-ray resonant scattering and some aspects of the interaction of matter with strong laser fields. Most numerical simulations are performed with a time-dependent wave-packet program that have proved its robustness in previous investigations. LÄS MER
9. Dynamics of multiphoton processes in nonlinear optics and x-ray spectroscopy
Sammanfattning : New generations of ultrashort and intense laser pulses as well ashigh power synchrotron radiation sources and x-ray free electronlasers have promoted fast developments in nonlinear optics andx-ray spectroscopy. The new experimental achievements and the appearance of varieties of novelnonlinear phenomena call for further development of theories. 10. Radiative Properties of Rare Earth Elements - Free and Bound in Crystals
Sammanfattning : This thesis is devoted to fundamental aspects, and to spectroscopic applications of radiative properties in free atoms and ions, as well as in ions doped into crystals. Using the time-resolved laser-induced fluorescence technique, measurements of radiative lifetimes for rare earth elements have been performed in neutral Pr, Nd, Tm, and in singly ionized Sm, Er, Nd, Tm, Yb, as well as in doubly ionized Tm and Tb ions.
