21. Nanoscale studies of the atmospheric corrosion of copper protected by ultrathin organic films
Sammanfattning : Copper (Cu) has been utilised by humans for millenniums and has become an indispensable metal in modern industry and in our infrastructure. However, corrosion, as a natural process for metallic materials, takes place on copper surfaces in most environments. LÄS MER
22. Quantitative in situ analysis of initial atmospheric corrosion of copper induced by carboxylic acids
Sammanfattning : The interaction of carboxylic acids with copper is a phenomenon found both outdoors and, more commonly, indoors. The influence on copper of some carboxylic acids (formic, acetic, propionic, and butyric) have so far been studied at concentrations levels at least three or four orders of magnitude higher than actual indoor conditions (< 20 ppb, volume parts per billion), and with only limited emphasis on any mechanistic approach. 23. Copper in Chemical-Looping Combustion (CLC) and Chemical-Looping with Oxygen Uncoupling (CLOU)
Sammanfattning : The chemical-looping combustion (CLC) and chemical-looping with oxygen uncoupling (CLOU) processes are attractive solutions for efficient combustion with inherent separation of carbon dioxide. These processes use a metal oxide as an oxygen carrier to transfer oxygen from an air to a fuel reactor where the fuel, or gasification products of the fuel, reacts with the oxygen carrier. LÄS MER

25. New Cu-I cluster compounds with luminescent properties
Sammanfattning : The aim of this thesis has been to investigate how the synthesis route, choice of solvent and counter-ions effects the crystallization of Cu(I)I systems, and to investigate the correlation between the structure and luminescence properties of the systems. In order to do so a series of compounds based on an anion containing Cu(I)I, stabilized by organic cations have been produced. LÄS MER
