6. Wheel-rail contact modelling in vehicle dynamics simulation
Sammanfattning : The wheel-rail contact is at the core of all research related to vehicle-track interaction. This tiny interface governs the dynamic performance of rail vehicles through the loads it transmits and, like any high stress concentration zone, it is subjected to serious damage phenomena. LÄS MER
7. Enforcing Legitimacy : Perspectives on the Relationship between Intervening Armed Forces and the Local Population in Afghanistan
Sammanfattning : Bolstering local perceptions of legitimacy in armed intervention has emerged as an important feature of increasingly complex international peace and statebuilding efforts. Yet, previous research has only begun to explore what local legitimacy entails to those involved in, and affected by, armed intervention. LÄS MER

9. On efficient and adaptive modelling of friction damping in bladed disks
Sammanfattning : This work focuses on efficient modelling and adaptive control of friction damping in bladed disks. To efficiently simulate the friction contact, a full-3D time-discrete contact model is reformulated and an analytical expression for the Jacobian matrix is derived that reduces the computation time drastically with respect to the classical finite difference method. 10. Modelling of Dynamic Contact - Exemplified on the Tyre/Road Interaction
Sammanfattning : Noise is a severe problem in modern society. Road traffic noise is a substantial contributor and the tyre/road interaction is the main noise source for normal driving conditions. Despite more than 30 years of research, there is a lack of quantitative tyre/road noise prediction models. LÄS MER
