21. Displacement field measurement using digital speckle photography for characterisation of materials subjected to large deformations and high strain rates
Sammanfattning : In many technical processes, material is deformed under conditions involving large deformations (strains) and/or high strain rates. Examples of such processes are collisions, impact, penetration, metal forming, powder compaction and crack propagation. LÄS MER
22. On Rate-Dependency of Gothenburg Clay
Sammanfattning : On Rate-Dependency of Gothenburg ClayMATS OLSSONDepartment of Civil and Environmental EngineeringDivision of GeoEngineeringChalmers University of TechnologyABSTRACTLong-term settlements in clay constitute a major engineering challenge in areas with deep deposits of soft clay. This dissertation aims to extend the understanding and theoretical framework of rate-dependent soil behaviour, so that uncertainties in predictions of long-term settlements are significantly reduced. 23. Everybody knows? : Conversational coproduction in communication of addiction expertise
Sammanfattning : The coproduction idiom within Science and Technology Studies (STS) centers on how science and society produce knowledge together. The current thesis explores expert communication – which is immersed in the relationship between science and society – as a case for understanding such coproducing processes. LÄS MER
24. Simulation of consolidation processes by eulerian two-fluid models
Sammanfattning : The objective of this report is to study a model of agravity and shear induced consolidation process of a dense, flocculated suspension. The suspension is modeled as a two-constituent mixture of afluid and solid particles by an Eulerian two-phase fluid model. LÄS MER
25. Dis-placed Desires : Space and Sexuality in South African Literature
Sammanfattning : This study provides a diachronic view of the interweaving of space and sexuality, their interdependency and mutually constitutive aspects, in seven South African English language novels from the early twentieth century until the first decade of the twenty-first century. A key contention is that it is precisely a co-constitutive depiction of space and sexuality that has arisen in this literature as a response to a socio-political climate which has exercised harsh regulation in these two areas.
