11. Ghostlines: Movements, Anticipations, and Drawings of the LAPSSET Development Corridor in Kenya
Sammanfattning : The Lamu Port-South Sudan-Ethiopia-Transport (LAPSSET) corridor is a partly completed development corridor in Kenya that will connect the eponymous places via roads, pipelines and railway lines, if completed. This thesis investigates how inhabitants of the traversed area navigate and shape the spatio-temporal landscape of the corridor, following three motifs: lines created through moving, anticipating, and drawing. 12. Electric Energy Conversion Systems : Wave Energy and Hydropower
Sammanfattning : Electric energy conversion is an important issue in today's society as our daily lives largely depend on the supplies of energy. Two energy sources are studied for conversion in the present thesis, ocean waves and hydropower. The work focuses on the generator and the transmission of its output to the electric grid. LÄS MER
13. Metamathematical fixed points
Sammanfattning : This thesis concerns the concept of metamathematical fixed points. After an introduction, we survey the field of metamathematics, from la fin du siècle to present. We are especially interested in the notion of fixed points, theorems on the existence of various kinds of fixed points, and their applications to metamathematics. LÄS MER
14. Cosmological models, nonideal fluids and viscous forces in general relativity
Sammanfattning : This thesis addresses the open questions of providing a cosmological model describing an accelerated expanding Universe without violating the energy conditions or a model that contributes to the physical interpretation of the dark energy. The former case is analyzed considering a closed model based on a regular lattice of black holes using the Einstein equation in vacuum. LÄS MER
15. Enterprise Social Media in Project-based Knowledge Work : A contextualized view through the lens of activity theory
Sammanfattning : Project-based knowledge work is characterised by decentralised and dynamic team-based structures, different from the traditional, bureaucratic organisation. Arguably, this flexible and collaborative work setting could benefit from enterprise social media, which helps facilitate how people connect, collaborate and share information across organisational boundaries.
