11. Staging urban emergence through collective creativity: Devising an outdoor mobile augmented reality tool
Sammanfattning : The unpredictability of global geopolitical conflicts, economic trends, and impacts of climate change, coupled with an increasing urban population, necessitates a more profound commitment to resilience thinking in urban planning and design. In contrast to top-down planning and designing for sustainability, allowing for emergence to take place seems to contribute to a capacity to better deal with this complex unpredictability, by allowing incremental changes through bottom-up, self-organized adaptation made by diverse actors in the proximity of various social, economical and functional entities in the urban context. 12. Flexible Composition of Robot Logic with Computer Vision Services
Sammanfattning : Vision-based robotics is an ever-growing field within industrial automation. Demands for greater flexibility and higher quality motivate manufacturing companies to adopt these technologies for such tasks as material handling, assembly, and inspection. LÄS MER
13. Efficient parallell architectures for future radar signal processing
Sammanfattning : The processing demands on future embedded radar signal processors may stretch to several trillions of floating-point operations per second (TFLOPS). This is an increase of two to three orders of magnitude realtive to the requirements of today. Still, the tight size and power constraints are unchanged. LÄS MER
14. Modelling User Tasks and Intentions for Service Discovery in Ubiquitous Computing
Sammanfattning : Ubiquitous computing (Ubicomp) increases in proliferation. Multiple and ever growing in numbers, computational devices are now at the users' disposal throughout the physical environment, while simultaneously being effectively invisible. Consequently, a significant challenge is service discovery. LÄS MER
15. Action in Mind : A Neural Network Approach to Action Recognition and Segmentation
Sammanfattning : Recognizing and categorizing human actions is an important task with applications in various fields such as human-robot interaction, video analysis, surveillance, video retrieval, health care system and entertainment industry. This thesis presents a novel computational approach for human action recognition through different implementations of multi-layer architectures based on artificial neural networks.
