  1. 1. Spatial forest resource competition: an economic study : How increased competition and production flexibility affect woody feedstock markets

    Författare :Elias Olofsson; Robert Lundmark; Hanne Kathrine Sjölie; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Economics; Nationalekonomi;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis explores the Swedish forestry and forest industry sectors, together with their adjoining markets, and examines how these sectors are currently positioned to meet future developments and demands. For this purpose, four specific research questions are formulated, focusing on: (1) the structural composition of forest industry sector and how it will be affected by an increasing feedstock competition; (2) the production flexibility of the forest industry; (3) the resource allocation and price effects from increased feedstock competition; and (4) the potential implications from improved harvesting efficiency. 2. 2. Can the ego be depleted? : Attempts to replicate the ego depletion effect and integrate its explanations

    Författare :Junhua Dang; Institutionen för psykologi; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Self-control; Ego depletion; Pre-registration; Meta-analyses; Goal maintenance; Competition resolution;

    Sammanfattning : Although self-control is so important that no one from any corner of the world would dispute, it is often difficult and vulnerable. Continuous exertion is one of the most influential factors that are detrimental to self-control, which leads to a state called “ego depletion”. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Between Enforcement and Regulation : A Study of the System of Case Resolution Mechanisms Used by the European Commission in the Enforcement of Articles 101 and 102 TFEU

    Författare :Katharina Voss; Antonina Bakardjieva Engelbrekt; Vladimir Bastidas Venegas; Giorgio Monti; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; EU competition law; enforcement; compliance; antitrust; Regulation 1 2003; case resolution mechanism; regulatory enforcement theory; responsive regulation; corporate compliance programme; europeisk integrationsrätt; European Law;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis examines the current design of the system of case resolution mechanisms used by the European Commission (the Commission) where an infringement of Articles 101 and 102 TFEU is suspected and advances some proposals regarding this design. Infringements of Articles 101 and 102 TFEU cause considerable damage to the EU economy and ultimately, to consumers. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Competition, regulation and integration in international financial markets

    Författare :Jens Nystedt; Handelshögskolan i Stockholm; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES;

    Sammanfattning : Chapter I - Derivative Market Competition: OTC Markets Versus Organized Derivative Exchanges Recent regulatory initiatives in the United States have again raised the issue of a ''level regulatory and supervisory playing field'' and the degree of competition globally between over-the-counter (OTC) derivatives and organized derivative exchange (ODE) markets. This chapter models some important aspects of how an ODE market interrelates with the OTC markets. LÄS MER

    Sammanfattning : Silicon technologyhas been seekingfor a monolithic solution for a chip where data processing and data communication is performed in the CMOS part and the photonic component, respectively. Traditionally, silicon has been widely considered for electronic applications but not for photonic applications due to its indirect bandgap nature. LÄS MER
