6. Dot Gain in Colour Halftones
Sammanfattning : The incomparably most common way of reproducing images in print is by halftoning, whereby varying levels of grey or colour are simulated by small dots with maximum colour density but with a varying local fractional area coverage, printed on a white substrate. Whenever such a reproduction is used, a ubiquitous effect called dot gain comes into play and makes the actual image appear darker than what would have been expected from a perfect reproduction. 7. Halftoning for Multi-Channel Printing : Algorithm Development, Implementation and Verification
Sammanfattning : A seemingly straightforward way to enhance the quality of printed images is to increase the number of colorants, beyond the four traditionally used, in multi-channel printing. Potential improvements to reproduced images include: increased colour accuracy, enhanced colour smoothness and reduced image graininess. LÄS MER
8. Appearance of Textured and Pigmented Polymeric Surfaces
Sammanfattning : The surface appearance is of great importance in the production of high-quality injection-moulded products since it is strongly connected to the quality impression. The surface appearance of any object may be described in terms of colour, gloss and texture. LÄS MER
9. Modelling and controlling an offset lithographic printing process
Sammanfattning : The objective of this thesis is to provide methods for print quality enhancements in an offset lithographic printing proess. Various parameters characterising the print quality are recognised, however, in this work print quality is defined as the deviation of the amount of ink in a sample image from the reference print. 10. Colour Calibration of Trichromatic Capturing Devices
Sammanfattning : In a time where there is an increasing demand for easily accessible and up-to-date information, digital printing has become a link between traditional printed media and electronic media. Over the last years, applications such as variable data printing, personalised printing and print on demand have changed the way in which printed matter is produced and handled. LÄS MER
