  1. 1. Characteristics of the functional independence measure in patients with neurological disorders. Measurement through Rasch analysis

    Författare :Åsa Lundgren Nilsson; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :rehabilitation; assessment; measurement; stroke; traumatic brain injury; spinal cord injury; Rasch; item response theory;

    Sammanfattning : The Functional Independence Measure (FIMTM) is an internationally widely used outcome measure, measuring disability in terms of dependence or need of assistance. The aim of this study was to evaluate the structural characteristics of FIMTM using the Rasch model, with regard to scoring function, cross-cultural validity in Europe and cross-diagnostic validity within rehabilitation units in Scandinavia. 2. 2. Two Topics in Survey Methodology : Inference from Nonprobability Samples Using the Double Samples Setup

    Författare :Boris Lorenc; Daniel Thorburn; Lars Lyberg; Gösta Forsman; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; response process; establishment surveys; socially distributed cognition; response burden; measurement error; nonprobability samples; web surveys; double samples; propensity scores; model-based estimation; imputation; nonparametric imputation; weighting; Surveying; Lantmäteri;

    Sammanfattning : Modelling the response process in establishment surveys proceeded thus far by adding steps of operational character to the core cognitive steps of the individual cognitive model. Here (Paper 1) a larger unit of the cognitive analysis is posited: that part of the enterprise that is engaged in responding to a survey, consisting of one or more employees, the tools they use and the established practices of record keeping and survey responding. 3. 3. The Measurement of Subjective Well-Being: Item Response Theory, Classical Test Theory, and Multidimensional Item Response Theory

    Författare :Ali Al Nima; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Life Satisfaction; Negative Affect; Positive Affect; Harmoni in Life Subjective Well-Being; Item Response Theory; Classical Test Theory; Multidimensional Item Response Theory.;

    Sammanfattning : For over 35 years, modern science has conceptualized happiness as subjective well-being, which has until recently been understood as a dual construct consisting of an affective component (positive and negative affect) and a cognitive component (life satisfaction). Nevertheless, for the last five years, theoretical work and both quantitative and qualitative empirical work have suggested that the concept of subjective well-being omits both a lay and an Eastern way of understanding happiness. 4. 4. Learning about the unobservable : The role of attitudes, measurement errors, norms and perceptions in user behaviour

    Författare :Juan Manuel Lorenzo Varela; Yusak Susilo; R. Daniel Jonsson; Maria Börjesson; Soora Rasouli; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Attitudes; Measurement errors; Discrete choice analysis; Latent variables; Model misspecification; Normative beliefs; Rail factor; User perceptions; Social norms; Value of travel time savings; Transportvetenskap; Transport Science;

    Sammanfattning : Unobservable factors are important to understand user behaviour. Moreover, they contain information to help design services that willsolve today’s challenges. Yet, we have barely scratched the surface ofthe underlying mechanisms ruling user behaviour. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Depressive Personality Disorder : Construct, measurement, clinical correlates, and treatment outcome

    Författare :Rachel Maddux; Institutionen för psykologi; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; depression; personality disorder; treatment; DPD; Depressive Personality Disorder; psychometric;

    Sammanfattning : Depression is a serious and potentially devastating health problem, impacting millions of individuals worldwide. Although advances have been made in depression research, there remain a number of outstanding questions as to why certain individuals experience depression and why some respond to treatment and others do not.
