    Författare :Paul Dranichnikov; Peter Cashin; Wilhelm Graf; Martin Rutegård; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; CRS; HIPEC; readmission; EPIC; coagulopathy; VTE; goal-directed therapy GDT ; postoperative hemorrhage; oxaliplatin.; Surgery; Kirurgi; Oncology; Onkologi;

    Sammanfattning : Peritoneal surface malignancy (PM), regardless of the dissemination site, was once considered a terminal condition.  However, the introduction of a surgical approach with cytoreductive surgery (CRS) combined with hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy (HIPEC) with or without early intraperitoneal chemotherapy (EPIC) shifted the attitude from managing the symptoms of PM to disease treatment with curative intent. 2. 2. Monitoring of coagulation and platelet function in paediatric cardiac surgery

    Författare :Birgitta S Romlin; Göteborgs universitet; []

    Sammanfattning : Abstract Background: Paediatric cardiac surgery has developed dramatically during the last decades. Today, a wide range of patients is operated on-from premature neonates to grown up children with congenital heart disease. Excessive bleeding during and after cardiac surgery is still common, and it is one of the most serious complications. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Translational studies on mechanical hemostasis and coagulopathy in trauma

    Författare :Andreas Brännström; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : Trauma, in terms of physical injury, is the leading cause of death and disability among children and young adults worldwide. Hemorrhage and coagulation dysfunction are two important causes of preventable deaths after traumatic injuries. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Treatment of coagulopathy in patients with critical COVID-19

    Författare :Sandra Jonmarker; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : Introduction: Thromboembolic complications affect a large proportion of patients with critical COVID-19, and it may be associated with an increased risk of death. It has been hypothesized that both the virus of SARS-CoV-2 itself and the inflammation caused by the infection puts patients in a pro-coagulative state. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Bleeding and hemostasis during normo- and hypothermia : studies on porcine and rat models

    Författare :Göran Heinius; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : Background: Numerous animal studies have shown protective effects of hypothermia (HT) on hemorrhagic shock. These findings do not correlate with clinical findings, were studies on trauma registers have shown that HT is an independent factor of death when associated with trauma. LÄS MER
