  1. 16. A clinical positron emission tomography facility : 2-¹⁸FDG studies : development and results

    Författare :Tomas G Ohlsson; Lund Medicinsk strålningsfysik; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; radiology; Clinical physics; head and neck cancer; monitoring therapy effect; quantification; normalization; 511 keV SPECT; rotating PET scanner; 2-[18-F]FDG; isotope production; 18-F; PET; positron emission tomography; tomography; medical instrumentation; Klinisk fysiologi; radiologi; tomografi; medicinsk instrumentering; Fysicumarkivet A:1996:Ohlsson;

    Sammanfattning : Positron emission tomography (PET) is a tracer technique used for quantitative in vivo studies of physiological and biochemical processes. Because of the use of positron-emitting radionuclides such as 11-C, 13-N, 15-O and 18-F, which are isotopes of the biologically ubiquitous elements, it is possible to label radiopharmaceuticals which trace biochemical processes precisely. 2. 17. Helical tomotherapy for total marrow and total skin irradiation : Optimisation, verification, and clinical results

    Författare :André Änghede Haraldsson; Lund Medicinsk strålningsfysik; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; ALL; Leukemia; radiotherapy; hematology; Oncology; Leukemia; radiotherapy; Tomotherapy; Oncology; ALL;

    Sammanfattning : In modern cancer therapy, radiotherapy (RT) is a vital part of most treatments. Most RT treatments in Sweden are performed using intensity-modulated radiotherapy (IMRT) with fixed or dynamic arc delivery. The dose gradients outside the target are steep, the margins are small, and the treatment delivery is complicated. LÄS MER

  3. 18. Relative biological effectiveness in proton therapy: accounting for variability and uncertainties

    Författare :Jakob Ödén; Iuliana Toma-Dasu; Kjell Eriksson; Radhe Mohan; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; proton therapy; relative biological effectiveness; linear energy transfer; proton track-end optimisation; radiation-induced toxicity; Medical Radiation Physics; medicinsk strålningsfysik;

    Sammanfattning : Radiation therapy is widely used for treatments of malignant diseases. The search for the optimal radiation treatment approach for a specific case is a complex task, ultimately seeking to maximise the tumour control probability (TCP) while minimising the normal tissue complication probability (NTCP). 4. 19. Laser Spectroscopy in Scattering Media for Biological and Medical Applications

    Författare :Linda Persson; Atomfysik; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Instrumentation technology; Mät- och instrumenteringsteknik; Atom- och molekylärfysik; Atomic and molecular physics; Fysik; Physics; Monte Carlo simulations; Biomedical Optics; Scattering media; Gas measurements; Near infrared spectroscopy; Diode laser spectroscopy; Absorption spectroscopy;

    Sammanfattning : Tunable diode laser absorption spectroscopy can be utilised for gas detection in biological and medical applications. The common approach is to analyse transmitted light according to the Beer-Lambertian law. LÄS MER

  5. 20. Diffusion MRI of Small Ischemic Brain Lesions: Technical aspects, clinical experiences and diagnostic criteria

    Författare :Bo Geijer; Lund Diagnostisk radiologi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; radiology; Clinical physics; Metastasis; ADC; b; Infarct; MRI; Ischemia; Diffusion-Weighted; Diffusion; tomography; medical instrumentation; Klinisk fysiologi; radiologi; tomografi; medicinsk instrumentering;

    Sammanfattning : Purpose: To compare the visualization of small ischemic brain lesions using diffusion using diffusion-weighted (DW) MRI and conventional imaging, with special regard to diagnostic efficiency. Imaging features of lesions of different ages, diagnostic limitations and technical principles were also investigated. LÄS MER
