  1. 6. Adaptive Design for Circular Business Models in the Automotive Manufacturing Industry

    Författare :Thomas Nyström; RISE; []
    Nyckelord :Circular Business Models; Product Service System; Business and Design Logic; Circular Economy; Design for Circular Business Models;

    Sammanfattning : The vision of a circular economy (CE) promises both profitability and eco-sustainability to industries, and can, from a material and energy resource flow perspective, be operationalized by combining three business and design strategies: closing loops; narrowing and slowing down resource flows by material recycling, improving resource efficiency; and by extending product life by reuse, upgrades and remanufacturing. These three strategies are straightforward ways for industries to radically reduce their use of virgin resources. LÄS MER

  2. 7. Circular Business Models that Extend Product Value : Going Beyond Recycling to Create New Circular Business Opportunities

    Författare :Katherine Whalen; Internationella miljöinstitutet; []

    Sammanfattning : Over the past ten years, significant industry, policy, and scientific attention has been given to the ‘circular economy’, which aims to create a more sustainable society by decoupling economic growth from resource consumption. Firms are expected to play a significant role in the shift to a circular economy model by implementing circular business models that encourage prolonged use of products, components, and materials. 3. 8. Adaptive reuse and shared spaces as circular business models

    Författare :Rebecka Lundgren; Fastighetsvetenskap; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; circular economy; shared spaces; Adaptive reuse; sustainability; built environment; circular economy; shared spaces; adaptive reuse; sustainability; built environment;

    Sammanfattning : Circular economy (CE) is still a nascent research field in the built environment, however, has gained traction in the last decade. Despite it being generally accepted that sustainability consists of three dimensions, namely, social, environmental, and economic, CE has been criticised for focusing on environmental and economic impact whilst neglecting the social aspect. 5. 10. Circular design in practice: Towards a co-created circular economy through design

    Författare :Giliam Dokter; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []

    Sammanfattning : In the efforts to stimulate sustainable development, the circular economy represents the most recent attempt to reduce the pressure on the environment by attaining harmony between the economy, environment and society. In theory, this is accomplished by establishing ‘closed-loop’ flows of resources in a way that enables businesses and society to reap benefits from maintaining products, components and materials at their highest utility and value, while simultaneously reducing the generation of waste.
