1. Experiments with and modelling of explosively driven mangetic flux compression generators
Sammanfattning : This thesis presents work performed on explosively driven magnetic flux compression generators. This kind of devices converts the chemically stored energy in a high explosive into electromagnetic energy in the form of a powerful current pulse. LÄS MER
2. On SiC JFET converters: components, gate-drives and main-circuit conditions
Sammanfattning : This thesis deals with Silicon Carbide Junction Field Effect Transistors (SiC JFETs) - how to use them to their full potential in power electronic circuits, how to model them in a power electronic simulation program, and how a gate drive can be built. To fully utilize the low on-state losses of SiC JFETs it is suggested that SiC JFETs should not be equipped with anti-parallel diodes. LÄS MER
3. Modelling and Experimental Verification of Direct Drive Wave Energy Conversion : Buoy-Generator Dynamics
Sammanfattning : This thesis is focused on development of models and modelling of a wave energy converter in operation. Through the thesis linear potential wave theory has been used to describe the wave-buoy interaction. The differences lie in the generator models, in the simplest model the generator is a mechanical damper characterized by a damping factor. LÄS MER
4. Coupled Simulations of Cooling and Engine Systems for Unsteady Analysis of the Benefits of Thermal Engine Encapsulation
Sammanfattning : A well-designed engine encapsulation can extend engine cool-down time significantly - on the order of 500 - 700%. This is expected to have a sensitive influence on the fuel consumption due to the increased probability for high oil temperatures at the following engine start, reduced length of the initial warm-up period and consequently, reduced friction losses. 5. Reactors - Circuit Theory and Silicon Integrated Applications
Sammanfattning : This dissertation deals with reactive components in electric circuits, both as targets for a theoretical circuit analysis, and as devices implemented in silicon processes like CMOS. The frequency behavior of a general electric network is determined by the reactances (i.e. LÄS MER
