   Sammanfattning : The central focus of this dissertation concerns the question of whether and in what way there is a connection between the development of the Church of Sweden Service Book (kyrkohandboken) of 1942 and 1986 and changes in designing the structure of the liturgical space of the medieval church buildings. This study has two means of approach: first there is an examination of the process of liturgical change primarily during the latter part of the 20th century in its relationship to the medieval worship space; secondly there is a case study of the same process related to a specific church building – the medieval Church of St Mary (Mariakyrkan) at Sigtuna.    Sammanfattning : This study describes and analyses the Swedish ecclesiastical heritage as well as the structures and systems that provide conditions and frameworks for how it is perceived and managed.    Sammanfattning : The central theme of this thesis is the Christianization of Iceland during the period from the late 10th century to the turn of the 12th century. The distinct, though similar, branches of Christianity are traced through the archaeological record, where the excavation of an Early Medieval timber church and graveyard at Thórarinsstadhir in Seydhisfjördhur is used as a basic source.
