  1. 1. Coated Ferritic Stainless Steels as Interconnects in Solid Oxide Fuel Cells

    Författare :Jan Gustav Grolig; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Stainless Steel; Interconnect; SOFC; Chromium volatilization;

    Sammanfattning : Solid oxide fuel cells (SOFCs) have gained increased research interest as they arepromising devices for a decentralized and clean electricity and heat production. Severalmaterial challenges have to be solved to reach sufficient efficiencies and life times. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Corrosion of Ferritic Stainless Steel Interconnects for Solid Oxide Cells – Challenging Operating Conditions

    Författare :Patrik Alnegren; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; fuel cell; SOFC; dual atmosphere; chromium volatilization; high temperature electrolysis; high temperature oxidation; interconnect; SOEC;

    Sammanfattning : Solid oxide cells (SOC) have the potential to revolutionize electricity production by being able to both produce electricity with very high efficiency from a variety of fuels or to produce fuels from electricity and abundant raw materials such as water or carbon dioxide. Some material challenges remain to be solved before large-scale commercialization can be achieved. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Fundamental studies on the high temperature corrosion mechanisms of a 22Cr austenitic stainless steel in environments related to oxy-fuel combustion

    Författare :Luciana Intiso; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []

  4. 4. High-temperature corrosion properties of chromia- and alumina-forming alloys

    Författare :Tommy Sand; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; High-temperature corrosion; Alumina scale; Chromia scale; Cr-evaporation; Nitridation; Oxidation;

    Sammanfattning : Electricity production, transportation, and manufacturing industry are some of the largest sources of greenhouse gas emissions. In many cases, these processes are carried out at high temperature and energy efficiency is limited by material degradation, so-called ‘high-temperature corrosion’. LÄS MER

  5. 5. High Temperature Corrosion of Stainless Steels - The Effects of Chloride Salts and SO2(g)

    Författare :Sofia Karlsson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Sammanfattning : AbstractThe high corrosion rate of superheaters in waste- and biomass- fired plants is often linked to the presence of alkali chlorides. One way to mitigate the corrosion is to replace the superheater material with more corrosion- resistant materials. Another way is to change the corrosive environment by introducing fuel additives.
