6. Modeling and Calibration of Preparative Chromatography
Sammanfattning : In my thesis, I have modeled adsorption chromatography and simulated, calibrated, and analyzed models of adsorption chromatography. While my main focus has been modeling and calibration of the models by estimating the parameters, the models used have been partly new. LÄS MER
7. Hydrophilic Separation Materials for Liquid Chromatography
Sammanfattning : The main focus of this thesis is on hydrophilic interaction chromatography (HILIC) and the preparation of stationary phases for HILIC. The mechanism of HILIC is also discussed; a large part of the discussion has been adapted from a review written by me and professor Irgum for the Journal of Separation Science (ref 34). LÄS MER
8. Development and improvement of methods for characterization of HPLC stationary phases
Sammanfattning : High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) is a widely used tech-nique both for detecting and purifying substances in academy and in the industry. In order to facilitate the use of, and knowledge in HPLC, character-ization of stationary phases is of utmost importance. LÄS MER
9. Superporous agarose a new material for chromatography
Sammanfattning : Agarose, the most commonly employed chromatography base material in industrial purification processes for biomolecules – proteins, has almost ideal properties. The major disadvantage of the agarose support is its poor mechanical strength which excludes its use in high speed separations where small particles are needed in order to achieve improved chromatographic efficiency. 10. Electrostatic interaction chromatography : aspects of the salt dependent interactions of proteins
Sammanfattning : This thesis studies the ionic strength dependence of protein retention in ion-exchange chromatography (IEC). It discusses some aspects of the use and applicability of retention models in describing the interaction between a protein and the highly charged stationary phase. LÄS MER
