    Sammanfattning : Similar to other Western European countries, immigrants and children of immigrants constitute growing segments of the Swedish population. Analyzing fertility patterns among immigrants and their children is important because (1) understanding potential heterogeneity in fertility preferences and behavior among population subgroups improves the understanding of fertility trends for the overall population, (2) fertility patterns can serve as an indicator of immigrants’ integration into the destination society, and (3) research can contribute with facts and nuanced perspectives to the emotionally charged political debate on immigrant and minority fertility. This dissertation engages with this literature but also complements it with an ethnographic account of the discursive practices of Evangelical Zionists through which, it is suggested, much of the religious significance of the contemporary state is being produced.     Sammanfattning : This thesis is a contribution to the scholarly debate on how African Independent Churches (AICs) relate to outside partners. It is a case study from the perspective of the periphery of Ethiopia, which explains the origins of the Mekane Yesus Church in Kambata Hadiya The diachronic structure of the study with a focus from 1944 to 1975 highlights how a group of Christians reacted to cultural pressure and formed a local independent church, the Kambata Evangelical Church 2 (KEC-2).     Sammanfattning : After a review of previous research on Hebrews cncerning the structure, basic themes and the way the author characterizes his own work in the book as a word of exhortation, various methods of analyzing structure and themes are discussed and evluated. An exegetical and rhetorical analysis of Hebrews 1 and 2 leads to the conclusion that Heb 1:1-4 is the rhetorical exordium and 1:5–2:18 the narratio of a deliberative discourse, with 2:17f constituting the propositio, stating the main problem and question for the entire discourse.
