6. Abdominal aortic aneurysm inception and evolution - A computational model
Sammanfattning : Abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) is characterized by a bulge in the abdominal aorta. AAA development is mostly asymptomatic, but such a bulge may suddenly rupture, which is associated with a high mortality rate. Unfortunately, there is no medication that can prevent AAA from expanding or rupturing. LÄS MER
7. Didaktiska dilemman i undervisning utifrån samhällsdilemman
8. Dairy cattle mating plans at herd level using genomic information
Sammanfattning : Genotyping of dairy cattle can benefit farmers by increasing the accuracy of breeding values and improving mating plans at herd level. Validation studies on breeding values in this thesis revealed that for the vast majority of traits analysed in Holstein, Jersey and Nordic Red Dairy Cattle, genomically enhanced breeding values for virgin heifers were able to predict cow performance significantly more accurately than parent average breeding values. 9. Automated Deductive Verification of Safety-Critical Embedded Software
Sammanfattning : Embedded systems are everywhere in society, and in many industries, such as the automotive industry, embedded systems are safety-critical. Embedded systems are today also increasingly controlled by software, with advances in, for example, autonomous driving. LÄS MER
10. The Role of IgM and Complement in Antibody Responses
Sammanfattning : An intact complement system including the complement receptors 1 and 2 (CR1/2) is crucial for the generation of a normal antibody response in animals and humans. Moreover, activation of the classical pathway is thought to be important since deficiency in complement components C1q, C2, C4 or C3 lead to impaired antibody responses. LÄS MER
