  1. 1. Regulation and Function of the Human Leukotriene D4 Receptor CysLT1 in Epithelial Cells and Colon Cancer

    Författare :Christian Kamp-Nielsen; Malmö Experimentell patologi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Colorectal cancer; Inflammation; PKC; Calcium; CysLT1R; GPCR; Cytology; oncology; cancerology; Cytologi; onkologi; cancer;

    Sammanfattning : The pro-inflammatory mediators leukotrienes have shown to be important players in the pathogenesis of diseases like asthma and inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). Patients suffering from IBD have been found to have an increased risk of developing colon cancer. LÄS MER

  2. 2. The Role of IgM and Complement in Antibody Responses

    Författare :Christian Rutemark; Birgitta Heyman; Claus Nielsen; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Complement; antibody response; mutated IgM; natural IgM; complement receptors; SIGN-R1; SAP; CRP; B cells; Medical Science; Medicinsk vetenskap;

    Sammanfattning : An intact complement system including the complement receptors 1 and 2 (CR1/2) is crucial for the generation of a normal antibody response in animals and humans. Moreover, activation of the classical pathway is thought to be important since deficiency in complement components C1q, C2, C4 or C3 lead to impaired antibody responses. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Systems Biology of the Secondary Metabolism in Filamentous Fungi

    Författare :Jens Christian Froslev Nielsen; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; genomics; systems biology; secondary metabolites; antibiotics; Next-generation sequencing; secondary metabolism; filamentous fungi; cell factories; Penicillium;

    Sammanfattning : Filamentous fungi constitute a rich reservoir of pharmaceutically relevant bioactive small molecules. These compounds, commonly referred to as secondary metabolites, are widely used as antibiotics for the treatment of microbial infections, but also as other pharmaceuticals such as immunosuppressors, cholesterol lowering agents and anticancer drugs. 4. 4. Autonomous Vehicle Maneuvering at the Limit of Friction

    Författare :Victor Fors; Lars Nielsen; Björn Olofsson; Jan Åslund; Christian Gerdes; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY;

    Sammanfattning : Without a driver to fall back on, a fully self-driving car needs to be able to handle any situation it can encounter. With the perspective of future safety systems, this research studies autonomous maneuvering at the tire-road friction limit. In these situations, the dynamics is highly nonlinear, and the tire-road parameters are uncertain. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Att se stjärnor på ljusa dagen : förvandling och försoning i August Strindbergs En blå bok

    Sammanfattning : In this thesis a pattern of coherence is explored in August Strindberg’s Zones of the Spirit (En blå bok) – a literary work consisting of a collection of short and quite diverse essays. It is argued that Strindberg’s pattern of thought has its base in a concept of transformation that characterizes his descriptions of nature and human life. LÄS MER
